They sell a kit to convert to the hardtop it even includes the switches and washer bottle because it requires an extra hole for the second pump. 2003-2006 is part number 82208907AB and 2000-2001 is 82205621ab. The only place I see it in stock is on Canadian mopar websites.

Sounds like the threaded end of the pin broke off. You would have to replace the hinge pin to fix it. The bushing shouldn’t be falling down since it’s installed from the top unless it’s that wore out.

You should try looking into the wiring harness where is passes behind the block of the engine. I had a short in one of my coil wires and when it would short it would fry the coil and it would give me codes 351 352 353. The harness passes right over a stud and likes to chafe this is where I found...

I would try to heat it then clamp some vise grips on and work it back and forth slowly.

Vise grips on the half sticking out of the hood.

The one issue I encountered when doing this swap was that on a stock height TJ the front driveshaft would contact the exhaust and o2 sensor. When I installed my 2" lift the problem was cured.

Carrier has to come out along with the axle shafts.

There must be a wrecker near by that has a radio like that. I believe lots of other Chrysler products had that same radio. If I remember correctly late 90’s rams had the same radio.
