    Name this driveline noise

I can’t decide if it’s the joint in the driveshaft or the output bearing in the transfer case.

Has anyone installed a subwoofer inside their instatrunk?

You are awesome for posting these pics. I just installed the same speaker in mine today after seeing how you did it. We traded my daughters car in for a new one and I had this speaker left over from that so now it's in the TJ.

Finally fixed my vibration at idle

Last year when I was installing my Savvy tcase shifter cable I noticed my tranny mount was torn in several spots. I went to Autozone and bought a replacement. Every since then I have had a pretty bad vibration at idle when in gear after the Jeep warms up. At the time I couldn't find a mopar...

Sailcloth or standard Rampage bowless tops?

I have owned this Jeep for 2 years and no doubt about it 90% of my issues with it have been that trashy top.

Sailcloth or standard Rampage bowless tops?

How are the zippers on it? I have a Smittybilt top now that is only 2 years old and it's about to go in the trash.

Whining noise coming from front end at 30 MPH and up

I bought the Jeep 18 months ago with 105k miles and this just started a couple hundred miles ago and has been getting louder.

Whining noise coming from front end at 30 MPH and up

Slowly narrowing things down. I drove mine today about 10 miles and then it started whining again. I drove it back home and jacked up the rearend and hopped in it to reproduce the issue. I removed the front driveshaft before I drove it so this takes that and front axle out of the equation. I...

Whining noise coming from front end at 30 MPH and up

I did some reading on the oil in the transfer case subject and since I already had oil in the garage and it was only 10 minutes of work I decided to go ahead and do it. No change in the noise. I pulled my front driveshaft this morning and nothing obvious jumps out that is wrong with it. The...

Whining noise coming from front end at 30 MPH and up

I was actually hoping it was the back joint on the front driveshaft, its' the only one I haven't changed yet but I thought if that's what it was I wouldn't have noticed a difference by changing the tcase fluid. It's going to be nice this weekend so I will probably go ahead and pull it and check...

Whining noise coming from front end at 30 MPH and up

Wouldn't the tensioner pulley or harmonic balancer change with engine rpm. On mine at least it only changes with wheel speed. Doesn't matter what engine rpm, what gear I am in, or even if I am in gear. Only the wheel speed.

Whining noise coming from front end at 30 MPH and up

No, I put a lot of faith in my buddy in the Jeep bringing it up to speed and my AC Delco jack stands.

Whining noise coming from front end at 30 MPH and up

I put mine up on jack stands and ran it up to 30mph in 2wd, no noise. Ran it up to 30mph in 4wd and there it was. Not being smart and laying underneath it while it was running the noise was coming from the transfer case. I drained the fluid and it smelled really burnt. I filled it back with...

    Whining at speed

I see several other discussions with this title but mine seems to be different, maybe. 03 4.0 42RLE. When it's cold it's fine. Once you drive for a few miles it starts quietly and then gets louder the longer you drive. It's really hard to describe what it sounds like, I tried to make a video...

Whining noise coming from front end at 30 MPH and up

Also mine doesn't do it when it's cold. It's only after I drive for a few miles it starts.

Whining noise coming from front end at 30 MPH and up

Same, mine started about a month ago. It sounds like its coming from the front of my tranny but it doesn't change with engine rpm or even shifting to neutral while moving. Only actual speed makes a difference in pitch. Mine is a 4.0 42rle. Last year I changed the front diff fluid with Lucas...

Vibration at idle only after installing new rubber transmission mount

Same. I have replaced the iac and tps both.

Vibration at idle only after installing new rubber transmission mount

It doesn’t even take to 1000rpms for it to go away. Literally as soon as I touch the throttle it’s gone. I think if I could raise the idle 100 rpm’s I wouldn’t have this issue.

Vibration at idle only after installing new rubber transmission mount

The AC doesn't matter. It doesn't do it as soon as I start the Jeep but once it warms up it's bad. It gets slightly better if I kick it in neutral.

    Loose pre cat bolts

What kind of gasket would you try. I still don't have mine not leaking either.
