X2 on just getting new/pre-owned ones. I was in the same boat earlier this year and was previously “repairing” my old ones every year after winter. I bought some used non-rusty ones of facebook and have no regrets. I suggest looking around your local area and seeing if anyone is parting out or...
I am replacing my cylinder this week because I can’t turn it to Acc and my key (including spares) are getting stuck. I never really thought of this until now but what is the ”off“ position for? When I turn it to that the key is stuck in and everything is off. 98 auto
This saved me today! I went out to my Jeep and no click or anything. Tore it apart and changed out switch and actuator. Now it works great. I didn’t see any damage on the original actuator though so I am keeping at as a spare.
I actually bought the warn bumper second hand and it did not come with any so I called up warn to order them and they said they no longer make them. Since I was repping warn though they said haha they will custom make some for me for free! Super lucky and very generous of warn.
Catching up on some things on my to do list. Warn rear bumper braces, wired up led third break lights (taped for now trying to decide where to put them), and flange exhaust repair
It is this one. Oddly it is a T50 and usually they are T55. I was able to get some good leverage before I stripped it and it would not budge, which is why I think it is torqued over 45lbs and i noticed that that the bracket has been indented from the bolt.
If voltage gauge doesn’t work it is likely a battery problem. I would check battery and then the alternator. If you live near a advance auto or something similar they can check both for free
So my passenger side track bar bolt is stripped and looks like the PO over torqued it, screw T50 torx , and I think I am just going to cut the bolt on each side and punch it out. That being said what is the best cordless tool for the job a grinder or reciprocating saw? Also what brand or...
You could have over filled or probably just the notorious “Jeep leak” between the T Case and transmission. Pretty cheap to fix. Would recommend washing it and track the leak or going to a transmission shop and let them at it.
I like how it posted twice. The Jeep must of hacked my account :ROFLMAO: . The frame is still pretty good I’m guessing the motor will blow before it goes. I just cant pull the trigger of paying 8-10k for TJ that may be cosmetically nice, but who nows what mechanical problems you may run it. I...
I’m guessing it will be around 1k all said and done. I want to try something like this, but probably have a mobile welder come in and do a couple lines on the torque boxes when finished.

This is what my TJ looks like haha, it spent its first years on the coast of Florida, then to the winters of Minnesota, and I bought it in Iowa before moving to New England. Now in Colorado, my main goal in 2021 is New floor pans and torque boxes.
Haha that was I was five years ago when I bought my 98. Got it for 7k and thought I got a steal. Three years go by and I am paying 1500 to put safety caps on the rear control arms 🤦♂️.
The first week I moved into my apartment my upstairs neighbor was making a hella a lot of noise so I gave two bangs on the ceiling. Three days later I get a letter from HOA warning me of my aggressive behavior. I went up stairs knocked on their door and small little guy answers the door. I asked...
