There is usually a primary fusible link in the harness. I haven't looked at the wiring diagram so I don't know for sure, but since it seems like everything is dead, this is the first place I would look. Otherwise, just start chasing power per the fsm wiring diagram.

Agree with above, just make sure the the wire gauge will support total amp draw. As Mr. Blaine says, draw should be quite low, unless you have a amp gauge in the cluster, then wire that separately with the appropriate gauge wire. EDIT: It appears you don't have an amp gauge, just a volt gauge...

If it is *truly* piston slap, it goes almost completely away when the motor is warmed up and the pistons expand. If you've never heard it before it usually sounds a bit like a diesel when its cold. Sometimes these motors just keep running like this, and sometimes the skirts on the pistons...
