Massachusetts Jeep for sale, good frame, some tub issues, needs some work, $4500

My buddy went to go look at this jeep. he knows what he's looking at. Says the frame is very good, no rot, no repairs. Tub has an issue under the drivers rocker (not visible outside) and rear corner has a spot of rust. Floors looked good, no carpet in it. Drivers fender was repaired and...

Picked up a 32RH transmission today for $100

I've been keeping track of the thread @U8MYDZT has (https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/32rh-transmission-rebuild.59697/) about rebuilding the 32RH because I have to pull the motor in my Apex, and the transmission is POURING transmission fluid out, though it seems to function ok. Both the motor...

May be time to sell my Jeep

There is usually a primary fusible link in the harness. I haven't looked at the wiring diagram so I don't know for sure, but since it seems like everything is dead, this is the first place I would look. Otherwise, just start chasing power per the fsm wiring diagram.

    Automotive electrical wiring question

Agree with above, just make sure the the wire gauge will support total amp draw. As Mr. Blaine says, draw should be quite low, unless you have a amp gauge in the cluster, then wire that separately with the appropriate gauge wire. EDIT: It appears you don't have an amp gauge, just a volt gauge...

    Wish I still had the '74 CJ5

I had a couple of em as well. one with fiberglass body, 304/T18, and another one with 350ci Chevy, SM65, 4.11s, detroit locker in back on 33s.

Is this the beginning of the end? (frame rust / breakage)

Its so hard to tell from pics but this doesn't look like a rot issue, it looks like a stress fracture. I would think there is a good chance that a decent welder would be able to weld it back on where it sits. If it's not rusted, this would be a pretty easy thing to do. That being said, I...

    Aftermarket parts for 32RH transmission?

Check it out: https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/32rh-transmission-rebuild.59697/ Myself and the OP of this thread have looked around and the only decent kit either one of us could find was from OPT above. They have a very good master rebuild kit along with options to add on other less...

    32RH transmission rebuild

Damn, that's a lot of broken stuff! Sonnax seems to have a decent inventory of some of the hard parts you need if you are still looking. I'd like to say I'm surprised about the Jasper thing, but my feeling is that most if not all of these mass reman motors and trannys that you get are done very...

    32RH transmission rebuild

Perfect. I have been looking at rebuild kits all over the place and I came to the same conclusion about Oregon Performance. I like the kits and I also like the add-on checkboxes for things like the reverse band, bushing kit, etc. Let us know what you think once you get it, and how everything...

    32RH transmission rebuild

Good for you! Due to this thread, I had to buy yet another thing, I bought the Tom Hand book. I've read some of it and skimmed the entire thing. Very clear and concise and pics are great. If you haven't purchased it, I'd recommend it. I'm following, as mine will be done in the next few...

Rubicon / Sahara fender flares - $100 - Gadsden, AL

lol, i'm an idiot and didn't read that part, too excited that they were black, rust free, and matched both my jeeps! I need the flares for the Apex and the fenders for the sahara. Thanks for clarifying to me what should have been clear all along!

New to forum, need advice on buying 2000 Wrangler

If it is *truly* piston slap, it goes almost completely away when the motor is warmed up and the pistons expand. If you've never heard it before it usually sounds a bit like a diesel when its cold. Sometimes these motors just keep running like this, and sometimes the skirts on the pistons...

How much rust is too much rust?

Smart. Man, you're in SoCal, I wouldn't even glance at a vehicle that came from Michigan if I lived out there. Rust sucks. Working on our vehicles is and can be fun, but if every bolt you turn requires pulling out the blue wrench (torch) or the bastard just breaks, its really no fun. Just...

What would you pay for a TJ that's been sitting for a long time?

Yeah, if you're not counting time then you really can't lose, and I agree, it is fun. Like I said, if you're getting rid of the auto 32rh i'd be interested, let me know!

What would you pay for a TJ that's been sitting for a long time?

Yes, absolutely. If one enjoys parting them and playing around you will have some fun and pocket a few bucks. As for return on time, you'd be better off getting a job at McDonalds.

What would you pay for a TJ that's been sitting for a long time?

As I said above my friend, no way you will lose money on it if you want to part it out. No way would I bother fixing that thing. If I were you I would buy it and make some money on it, plus keep some parts for myself. That's why I said if you don't pick it up, please let me know as I will...
