    Spacer for crankshaft position sensor

On the Rockauto website there is a part number for the crankshaft position sensor spacer but when I look in the parts manual for a 98 Wrangler I don't see one. Some website say the 98 doesn't need the spacer some do. Anyone with a 97/98 Wrangler change the sensor and did you use a spacer? Thanks

How do I determine which camshaft position sensor is bad?

Check Engine light came on just when I was driving by Autozone, they helped me out with their decoder and it says camshaft or crankshaft position sensor. How do you determine which one it is. BTW after I reset, didn't come back on

    Bosch fuel pumps

I took the advice of several folks on the site and ordered the Bosch fuel pump off of Amazon. There seems to be confusion on the strainer that comes on the pump, some say it doesn't fit in the TJ tank and you need to order both the FS 221 and FS 222 strainers in order for it to work properly...

    Idle issues

98 TJ, 173k 5 sp manual,,starts fine, idles fine about 825 rpm, when driving at the point of shifting and the clutch goes in the rpm's don't fall as much as I would think they should. Coming to a stop sign if you push in the clutch it starts off about 1500 and comes down to the normal idle after...

I've been reading post on this forum for months as well as other internet searches trying to figure out which wheels and tires to buy. I know it's a personal choice for the most part but looking for practical advice. My 98 has a 2 or 2.5 inch lift by the PO, hate the street tires and don't like...

    Another dreaded drum brake issue

Searched the forums for a while and still don't have an answer on my drum brake issue. Every once in a while, well, more often than not my brakes will drag after about ten miles or so. I can feel and smell it when it happens. Both wheels heat up evenly meaning both radiate the same amount of...

    Got a smoker

Went through the process of removing the rear drums, cleaning everything and adjusting my rear drum brakes on a 98, drove it to work for the first time after doing so, I got out in the parking lot I saw smoke/ steam (it's a 100 % humidity this morning) coming equally from both rear drums, maybe...

Antifreeze coming out of the A/C box drain hole

So, been working on installing Jeepair on my 98, not too bad of a job. While I had it torn down, figured I would replace the radiator, thermostat and housing and water pump. Got it put back together and pulled a vacuum on the AC system and it held over-night, was soooo happy. Put antifreeze in...

Would you change this fan out?

Working on adding AC to the 98,,,, jeepair makes it seem so simple,,step one, remove radiator, broken bolts, hoses that wont come off etc,,2 hours later, radiator out. Well, that's another thread I guess. Anyway while I have things torn down, would you change this out? How hard is it to change...

    Where to start

Bought a 1998 with 170,000 just to have something to tinker with. PO's took pretty good care of it but I don't have a clue what has been done to the jeep. I have already tackled quite a few project with good success but when it comes to suspension work I'm not so good at it. It drives OK, hit a...
