    WWII MB

Here’s a nice example of a WWII MB that’s in The museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, Texas. This is a wonderful museum. Fredericksburg is where Admiral Nimitz was born.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Replaced the dreaded oil pump drive assembly (OPDA) on my ‘06 TJ. It finally started making that awful noise so I knew it was time. I also changed the serpentine belt. ‘Not quite 40,000 miles, but the Jeep is 16 years old &, for all I know, it could be the original belt.

    Tire advice

I think a 33” tire would look right with your lift & would be great for a daily driver. I’ve got 33s on mine & I’ve regeared it to 4.56, but your 4.10s would be fine.

What did you do to your TJ today?

I just bought the Bestop kit which includes a cleaner, protectant & a lube for the zippers. I got it at my local 4 Wheel Parts store. ‘Good products!

More pics of an old barn find

Me either, but it does have locking front hubs so it’s 4X4 whether it’s factory or not. Yes! I can see what you mean about the gauge cluster. I think that big hole in the floor was for access to the master cylinder or something. ‘Not sure. But I can see a cut out in the dash above the steering...

More pics of an old barn find

I’ve been examining my pics a little closer & I realized that the fuel tank isn’t under the driver’s seat. Look at the pic of the rear passenger side that shows the spare tire. Is that the fuel fill just above the passenger side tail light? Also, there are only 2 levers for the...

More pics of an old barn find

‘Could be, but what about that spare tire carrier? It wouldn’t work at all with those sliding doors. Could it have been added at a later time?

More pics of an old barn find

I posted a couple of pics of this old Jeep sometime last Fall. I’m back in the area so I took some more pics. It’s in a pole barn next to Suds Monkey Brewing on Texas Highway 290 west of Austin. There was much discussion about my previous post & I’ve got some better pics now. Some of us thought...

Lots of people selling TJs because of high fuel prices

Our tests come every 10 years or so & it’s pretty much just a vision test to make sure you’re not trying to drive blind. ☺️

Lots of people selling TJs because of high fuel prices

You & I are pretty much just alike. I’m 70 years old & retired so I don’t commute. Our main vehicle is our Toyota Highlander & my ‘06 TJ is my toy that we also tow behind our motorhome. It reminds me of some of the old vehicles that I drove in my youth, especially 2 Datsun pick-ups that we...

    Flat Towing An Older Jeep

It shouldn’t be necessary to remove the front driveshaft as long as the transfer case is in neutral. That’s the way it works on my TJ & it tows great. We were park hosting at a Texas state park & saw a family towing an old flat fendered Ford military Jeep behind their motorhome. ‘No problems...

Need your opinion on this tire balance

I agree with you on this. I’ve had 2 separate balancing issues with KO2s on 2 different vehicles (one is them is my TJ). The first time was about 10 years ago with my F-350. The guy at Discount tire told me that a belt had shifted or something so I replaced them all with a different brand; ‘No...
