Evan Fischer Cats: Seeking Install Advice

Need a little installation help on my Evan Fischer mini-cat replacement for ‘04 rubicon. There were no installation instructions in the box, I can't find them online, and the OEM bolts and captive retainers (see pics below: retainers in black) that hold the cat flange to the manifold are...

    Hard to shift NV3550

Has this already been discussed? Yes. Are 1,000,000 posts on this? Yes. I’m just trying to validate my thinking, approach and next steps here, so lemme know if I’m way off base. Situation: hard to shift when hot, fine when cold, helps a bit if I pump the clutch. No slipping, skipping...

    Check My Thinking: P0432 Code

CEL is on for a P0432 code ('04 Rubicon, manual, 170,000 miles, unsure if cats are original). I don't have any symptoms: she's idling smoothly, starts and goes just fine, pulls alright (I have no comparison), and it doesn't burn when I pee. However, before I drop a cool $1,500 on three...

    Running rich

Hoping to revive this thread as I'm having a similar problem. New o2 sensors all around (4 total; ntk per @Jerry Bransford recommendation), new cat-back exhaust (original cats), new plugs, cleaned out iAC last summer, smooth idle, no codes (now that I've changed the o2 sensors). I don't know if...

What did you do to your TJ today?

There's that word again, heavy. Why are things so heavy in the future is there a problem with the Earth's gravitational pull?!

What did you do to your TJ today?

Prepped for warmer weather - removed the hardtop, dropped on the soft one, put on the new vinyl-wrapped half doors with new cloth uppers, and finally got that barricade bumper on properly. Only problem now is the back window won't close - the boxes that hold the pulls on have all fallen off...

Pennsylvania Soft Top Repair near Philly?

The zipper on my back window has stopped working, and now all the pulls and stays are gone. To be clear, the seam binding the zippers to the window and the seam binding the zipper on the soft top side are both fine; the teeth appear to be ok. I've tried replacing the pulls with new ones from...

Simple DIY TJ Hard Top Hoist

Ok, this thread has been on my mind quite a bit, but I have a few limitations: My garage is too small to fit the Jeep, so can't pull in and remove Which means I need to remove the hardtop outdoors but don't want to leave it outside Which means I need something that not only assists with the...

Simple DIY TJ Hard Top Hoist

Ok, this thread has been on my mind quite a bit as the weather warms up, and I have a stupid idea, which is why I'm burying it here. First, my limitations: My garage is too small to fit the Jeep, so can't pull in and remove the top Which means I need to remove the hardtop outdoors but don't...

    Click & Slow Crank

This is helpful, I'll do all this tonight and see if I get a change, but looks like I might need a new battery. Just one question: when you say a "switched source," do you mean installing a relay in the line? Just want to make sure I'm clear here

    Click & Slow Crank

I realize that sounds like the name of a local country bar band, but unfortunately, it's the only tune my TJ is playing at the moment. A bit of context: I swapped full doors for new half doors & cloth uppers just to get a feel for them. I took out fuse #4 so the interior lights didn't stay on...

Simple DIY TJ Hard Top Hoist

This is a great thread - I've been looking for something like this since I got a hardtop leading into the Pennsylvania winter (SEPA checking in), and I love the idea of repurposing an old swingset. Already looking on FB Marketplace for one! I don't have the ability to hang my top from the...

How do I cut this bolt?

well that video is fantastic - those nutsert replacements look awesome. I sheared off a bolt head on the underside of the passenger side rear frame where the bumper connects to the frame. Would these nutsert replacements be a good fix for that, when I inevitably drill out the sheared bolt and...

How do I cut this bolt?

ah-ha, good point - I missed the nutsert part. Ignore me, bolt extractors won't help at all in this case. However, in the event that you do have a rounded-off bolt head, then these are handy.
