I bought the Lares reman unit from Rock Auto and have had good luck with it so far.

Not that it matters but Im not using a jackery branded solar panel. Went with a 3rd party from amazon and all works good. Your solution is good but a totally different setup vs a small portbale / solar rechargeable unit. I even take this on my motorcycle camping trips.

I have the Jackery 300 w/solar panels and love it. It does fully charge with the panels. Charges and runs all my electronics.

Clearing out the garage and found this. It came off of a 2000 Jeep TJ 4cyl. Unknown condition. I replaced the entire front steering setup after an accident.

I did mine with the wheels on the ground. Not sure if that’s right or not but it worked for me.

I would install the PS hoses to the steering gear first. Then connect at the top after you have everything installed. Just make note of the angle of the hoses on your old steering gear so you can replace the new ones in roughly the same spot.

Pretty sure I’ve narrowed it down to an old alarm system one of the PO’s must have had/removed.

Now that I look at it closer, the back of the board says motion sensor. Maybe part of an old alarm system?

Here is the other side. I have not looked under the dash yet. I don’t see how it connects to anything ?

This fell down from under the dash and hit my foot while I was on a bumpy trail. Any ideas what it is??? Everything seems to be working just fine.

I would get a pitman arm puller as well.

These are the hoses I ordered for my 98.

I used a pumnp to get the fluid out of the power steering res. You could also just disconnect the lines and drain. I replaced the hoses while I was at it. Not sure I follow you on getting fluid into the new box. I just connected the new hoses, filled up the power steering reservoir and...

I bought the Lares reman unit from Rock Auto.

I just replaced my steering gear and the upper/lower steering shaft about a month ago. Was well worth it. I have a 98 with almost 200k on it.

So is getting a set of rock sliders for a TJ just a pipe dream now?
