    35’s on 17” wheels

I had a six inch suspension lift. And the ride was ok with the tires at 15-20 psi.

Random photos: Got anything interesting, unique, strange?

Saw this old Dodge sitting in front of the Big Boss Brewery in Raleigh while out working this week. The owner is asking 12,500 for it.

Gauges don't work after new stereo head unit install

I had power going to the dash with or without the radio plugged in. Ended up being a failure in the gauge cluster. Currently it’s working and I have a backup if it fails again.

What is your favorite vehicle that you've ever owned?

Right out of high school I traded a mercury to a buddy for a 74 Chevelle Malibu, wish I still had that car. (Picture is not mine) Other cars I’ve owned to note... 85 Grand Wagoneer 79 CJ-5 72 le-mans 92 318is 5 speed 82 Buick estate (shagin’) wagon

Gauges don't work after new stereo head unit install

Thought you should know, I pulled a dash cluster from an 01 Cherokee and it’s plug and play with my 97. That means any gauge cluster form a 97-01 xj is interchangeable with a 97-00 TJ, even though they have different part numbers. The difference that I can see is the xj dash has a light for the...

I try not to be the weirdo in a work van waving at Jeeps. Haha

Probably traded his top for those rims. I thought it was a TJ until I caught a glimpse of the square lights in the rearview.

This Jeep is Driving Me Crazy!

This might not apply to thes engines, but on nissans that are used in forklifts, a cam or crank position fault can come from a bad spark plug or faulty coil. The code is triggered during start up because they don’t see the notch quick enough, due to the engine struggling to start. Take this...

Gauges don't work after new stereo head unit install

Here’s another question, it’s going to be near impossible to find a low mile instrument cluster, but the odometer itself unplugs from the circuit board. Any idea where the Odometer reading is stored? If it’s in the odometer itself or the circuit board?

Gauges don't work after new stereo head unit install

Chris, do you know if a gauge cluster from a 2000 will fit a 97? I suspect that’s the issue and there’s one for sale nearby on Craigslist. Thanks.

Gauges don't work after new stereo head unit install

I have ground coming through, battery constant and battery on in the circuit board. But the ccd bus is only pushing .3 volts where it should be about 2.5 It’s probably in the gauge cluster itself as the self test doesn’t work.

Now that Wranglers are so huge, will Jeep introduce a smaller version?

That’s why I said government needs to get out of the way. Except for the frame around the windshield and the governor on the engine, their the same as the road legal(in India) Mahindra Thar. And I’m pretty sure there’s more than a few that have found ways to bypass the laws concerning their on...

Now that Wranglers are so huge, will Jeep introduce a smaller version?

I think this is exactly why Mahindra is trying to get into the American market with the Roxor, when you see one, and you grew up around willys like I did, you see the resemblance immediately. It shares parts with the cj4a, I don’t think you could claim that with our TJ’s. They see the gap in the...

How to install factory cruise control in your Jeep Wrangler TJ

One thing to keep in mind, after 98 the resistance used in the steering wheel switches changed. You would need to get 97-98 switches to install on those year wranglers or it won’t communicate with the ecm. All the other components should work from different years, if you’re sourcing used parts.

Gauges don't work after new stereo head unit install

I think my first idea of a loose wire is the root cause, the symptoms started when I wired in the stereo because of wires moving in the dash. Today I’ve got the dash mostly apart, started it and then shook the fuse box and the dash popped to life. Pretty sure it’s the keyed switch wire from the...

Gauges don't work after new stereo head unit install

Well it worked for awhile and now we’re back to no dash functions. Even worse, sometimes the gauges turn on and off again while driving, and unplugging the radio and associated wiring did not change anything. Back to square one.

Watch These Electric Jeep Wranglers Put Gas And Diesel Jeeps To Shame

I was wondering the same thing. The motor could co straight to the transfer case and the direction could be controlled by the motor controller, or you could hook it to a manual and have selective gear ratio control. It wouldn’t have any of the drawbacks of using a five speed on the trail as...
