    Milwaukee router deal

Pretty good deal on the M18 fuel router and two 5.0 batteries https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-FUEL-18V-Lithium-Ion-Brushless-Cordless-Compact-Router-with-Two-5-0ah-and-Charger-48-59-1852B-2723-20/322134515

Power tool batteries and fire safety

So I saw a reddit post the other day where someone had a Milwaukee battery explode in their toolbox overnight and it got me thinking. I've only got three batteries, they're probably 5+ years old but still work great. They're pretty much always at my shop 20 miles away from my house. On the off...

Help with price for 12" stainless square tube

I recently bought 1400lbs of steel tubing and misc stuff from my work for $.08/lb. Got lots of good stuff I'm going to use. I also managed to snag a 26" long piece of 12" stainless Square tubing with .5" wall thickness for $.08/lb. It would make a very nice base for something, but I'm...

AFE bladerunner radiator rubbing against coolant reservoir

Blaine, do you have any experience with the brass and copper radiators available for TJ's? Recently had to replace mine due to a very large leak, and was only able to find a cheapie parts store one quickly that I expect to replace sooner than I'd like. Though while I was calling around a shop...

Knocking and buzzing noise under shifter (2001 TJ, 123k miles, 32RH)

I If it's a factory setup the rear cat will be right after the three bolt flange on the passenger side, after the exhaust makes the two 90* bends around the oil pan. Your muffler will be the piece after the cat.

Knocking and buzzing noise under shifter (2001 TJ, 123k miles, 32RH)

The tubes are welded to each other on one end and bolted to the manifold on the other. They will not be able to move even a mm closer to each other. If you can't find any areas further back up above the transfer case skid where it might be rattling, pull the third cat and inspect it to see if...

Knocking and buzzing noise under shifter (2001 TJ, 123k miles, 32RH)

If those pipes have clearance to each other with it not running, they aren't going to flex enough to touch each other. Keep following the exhaust back by the transmission. The noise definitely sounds like exhaust rubbing something. Did you also have the third cat replaced or just the two mini...

High Long Term Fuel Trims at Idle

Interesting, I might need to look into that some more. I just figured it always leaked a bit. Wouldn't be terribly difficult to add some type of seal, those screws sound like a PITA though

High Long Term Fuel Trims at Idle

I had the throttle off a little while ago and I don't think the leak he's referring to can be fixed. Mine leaked right around where the shaft on the butterfly valve connects to the TPS sensor, just seemed like a slip fit hole for the shaft to pass through without an o ring or anything. I'm...

Boostwerks Engineering Jeep 4.0 Titanium Manifold Stud Kit (V2.0) Review

Cool, those should rust nicely. Nobody is saying you can't find cheaper hardware. I just wanted to post a review of a nice product made by a small shop for an excellent price. Not sure what your point is here

Boostwerks Engineering Jeep 4.0 Titanium Manifold Stud Kit (V2.0) Review

A 2" long 3/8-16 zinc plated grade 8 stud is $9.42 a piece. There's 11 studs. Another $7.69 for a package of suitable locknuts. 11 studs and a pack of nuts is $130 shipped and that doesn't include washers.

Boostwerks Engineering Jeep 4.0 Titanium Manifold Stud Kit (V2.0) Review

The OEM manifold flange is about as thin as I'd want for any exhaust manifold, so I don't think that's the main issue. If the threaded portion was longer it'd be a 5/5, the machine work was top notch and he even goes to the trouble of setting up a rotary broach for one end of the stud just for...

    8.8 rear end seals (again)

Gotcha, a small tack is nothing to worry about. A few inches of weld bead could be another story.

    8.8 rear end seals (again)

Has any welding been done to the housing, like adding mounting brackets, truss, etc? My 8.8 has the c clip eliminator kit, so the seals might be slightly different. Changed 3 times and they've both leaked every time. I finally gave up and just let it leak, chalked it up to one or both of the...

Boostwerks Engineering Jeep 4.0 Titanium Manifold Stud Kit (V2.0) Review

So I did just recently get these put on. I used an OEM two piece manifold and each half of the manifold has one bolt hole and one slot that the studs pass through. You'll need to drill out the two bolt holes and use a carbide Burr, flap drum or something similar to widen the two slots as the...

    Nashville TJ's Build - Continued

Not sure if you saw it in my thread, but I'm pretty sure the older TJ pumps also put out at least 60 psi, just the regulator keeps it at 49. I had a friend who did an LS swap with a TJ tank like I'm doing in my truck. He designed a metal piece that replaces the pressure regulator in the pump...

Two For One—A Go Fast TJ and J10 Build

Well I had a slight run in with a fire hydrant the other day, mostly just from me being a dumbass. Hydrant was perfectly fine, the jeep not so much, though I got pretty lucky. Shredded one of my new duratracs and just tweaked my drag link a little. Glad I had the replacement certificate on the...

    Yet another misfire

When you did the leak down test did you pull the radiator cap to see if you could hear any air coming from the cooling system?

Will the engine and transmission from a 2004 Grand Cherokee fit my 2004 TJ?

Keeping the grand Cherokee trans would probably take some work, but a 2004 grand Cherokee 4.0 should be pretty much a plug and play swap for a 2004 TJ. I just swapped an 04 GC 4.0 into my 02 TJ and the only thing that was different was the oil pressure sensor. The intake manifold might be a bit...
