Yep that’s exactly what I’m doing. Just a Milwaukee drill and a rag on the middle of the ring gear pushing down as I spin it both ways at a decent speed for 20ish rotations each direction.

sorry for reviving but how'd the regear turn out? did it do fine with that pattern?

speed limits reach 80 here in eastern Idaho and Wyoming, I hardly notice the difference between 70 and 80 mph in the jeep, but i also have sound deadening in the tub and hardtop, 30s and no lift. so it doesn't blow around a ton unless I hit heavy wind. then I'm down to 65 mph tops.
