I'm planning on upgrading the factory ground and +12v wires. Previous owner did some weird things with the winch wiring that I need to clean up anyway and I've got all the stuff to do it leftover from running dual batteries and stuff in my old 4runner. I'll double check all of my connections...

I did also put in a group 65 battery when I did this. I had read up on it, thought about doing it and then decided to stick with the factory size, but I guess my subconscious decided to go up a size one I actually went to get my battery. Would the bigger battery have anything to do with it?

Are you sure they're 2 ohm dvc? Normally the overall load on that would be .5 or 2 ohms (each wired to either 1 ohm or 4 ohms, and then wired together at .5 or 2 ohm overall load).

I'm not sure how they vary over the years. I think 97-02 were the same and then they changed for 03-06. I know it shows as incompatible with my 05, but not sure what the actual difference is. It was a direct fit for my 99. Here is the link from where I got it...
