    Idle - is it normal?

With this title, I thought you were talking about my children…

What did you do to your TJ today?

    Seems so, yes.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Finally got round to adjusting the transfer case linkage (was reluctant to stay in 4H) Or at least got #1 offspring to do it (he doesn’t get backache the way I do!) Yes, I know that rust on the frame needs attention..

    Fourth red tail light?

Sorry, late to the party - yes, that’s exactly like my UK spec 2001 TJ. Turn on headlights then pull the stalk. Required to pass annual MOT inspection here. You probably got one as it became part of standard LHD export spec.

    Lifted Truck Aggression?

I do get a few people when I’m in my Jeep (especially with the top down) who are jealous. I think they think I’m having more fun than they are. And I am.

Anti-roll bar' bushing - is this the same as sway bar'

My TJ is totally stock, 2001, and I don’t take it off road much. My options for maintenance and inspections (‘MOT’ in UK language) are 1. Local mom & pop garage, always looked after me well and service my other older vehicles, don’t rip me off, but not Jeep experts; 2. Off road specialist 35...

    Headlamp mounting screws size

Just removed and replaced my headlights (Hella H4 ones) so I could install Phillips Xtremevision Pro 150 bulbs. Good improvement. But the mounting screws (the ones holding the actual headlight mounting ring, not the shiny bezel) are very corroded and really need replacement. Anyone know the size?

Radio head unit compatibility: 2001 vs 2003

I asked this elsewhere ( Post in thread 'Single DIN touch screen' https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/single-din-touch-screen.50594/post-1214384) but to be fair that was thread drift. In the UK there are several tempting replacement head units (ex. Xtrons) advertised as compatible with...

    Gravelly rattle pulling away

My TJ (2001 manual) has a rattle when pulling away from a standing start. Seems to come from the transmission. Happens about 90% of the time. I’ve had it for 15 years and it’s always done it as far as I can recall, though it’s maybe getting worse. (I bought it at 60,000 and it’s currently on...

SuperTop NX lost pin from door surround

Last year I replaced the faded top on my TJ with a SuperTop NX. Annoyingly yesterday when I went to put my top back on (weather in the UK having started to get chilly, and I had a 75 mile drive to do on a 50 degree morning) I found I was missing the pin at the corner of the door surround which...

Has Quadratec gone out of business?

This. They’ll ship internationally. Many, many US websites just won't.

My grandpa never had a license either

We have Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras all over the place. They link to the Police National Computer which can check if the car has insurance, if the annual tax has been paid (we don’t pay annually for registration but it comes to the same thing) and, if the car is over 3 years old...

    Military Memes

kiwi black is getting hard to find here - you can only get the 'superior' Parade Gloss which perversely doesn’t bull boots as well as the cheaper version.

    Variable speed intermittent wiper behaviour

I realised yesterday that my variable speed intermittent wipe isn’t very subtle. The first three positions appear to be much the same; then the next one is a major change. Then nothing much happens again. is this due to failure of a variable resistor, or is this 'normal for TJ'?

    Rear fog light switch oddity

My TJ (2001) was originally fitted with front and rear fog lights. The MFS has a section at the end which pulls out (front fogs) and twists (rear fog light). Since my wife had a minor mishap which damaged the original front fog lights I had them removed, so only the rear one works. I realised...

What did you do to your TJ today?

He may have a different reason but my first car wrecked its wiper arms when they froze solid to the windscreen and I accidentally turned the wipers on. The motor worked fine, but the wiper arms bent to compensate…

What did you do to your TJ today?

Yup. Good haggis is delicious. Though these days I have to confess I like a little on a nice piece of steak… Nearly time for Burns' Night, of course, which is a great excuse for some haggis.

Can someone tell me the name of these headlights or where I can find them

The only thing that offended me was the spelling of 'nibbler'
