California Harbor Freight Transmission Lift Jack $75.

Deal on brand new, in box Harbor Freight transmission jack $75. Bought a transmission jack from Harbor Freight knowing I would need it to drop the fuel tank. Took me so long to get around to the tank that I forgot it and bought another one when they went on sale. Jack is in North Oceanside, CA...

    Tail/Stop Light Lens removal

How do you get the lens off the tail lights. Removed the four screws that look like the only thing holding the lens on but can't get the lens unstuck. Have tried prying with a flat blade screw drive but all that does is distort the housing leaving with the lens still stuck in place. Afraid...

Do all load range E tires ride tougher than load range C tires?

Had Load Range E tires on leaf sprung Series Land Rover and didn't find them all that hard riding. Of course the leaf springs didn't give such a supple, smooth ride quality. Those of you who have actually had E tires, did you find them all that brutal even when aired down below 30psi?? The...

Brakes dragging on all four wheels

All four brakes began to drag on the highway after I stopped for a light midway through a 20 mile trip. Had to add a bunch of throttle to get it moving each time I had to come to a stop. The brakes mostly backed off after driving a short distance but were still dragging. No steering pull either...

How to install JL or JT wheels on a TJ with the Yukon spin-free (YA WU-07) kit

Is this only a problem with JL and JT wheels or are the JK wheels also an issue???

    Anyone Running 33" Pizza Cutters?

Saw that KM3 in 32x10x15 but Costco wouldn't sell them for road use. What is the difference between a car and UTV tire that wouldn't let them work safely on an LJ for street/off road???

Stuck in Panama, but here's an interesting Jeep

That's what the JT should have been.

Just Put 2021 Gladiator Mojave Wheels On My LJ!

Hell of a deal. The take offs around San Diego all seem to be priced above $1200 for near new. Would like the TJ Moab rims but doubtful would find a set of those with good tires.

    This Jeep makes an impact

Found mine on Craigslist searching the whole state after looking for nearly a year. Passed on three with under 50,000 miles because they didn't have a top, a bit rusty or signs of rough treatment. My TJU turned up on Maui with only 28,000 miles, looked very clean from photos and bought it...

    Height adjustable seat brackets

If it is a permanent height adjustment you can buy risers to put between seat base and floor. Have done that with mine to get a 1" higher seat which makes all the difference in the world for seeing the hood.

Are BF Goodrich KM3 Tires Good or Bad?

Didn't place an order but Costco still thinks 33x10.5x15 are still produced. Didn't have them check whether there were any in the supply line.

Anybody have any luck with naval jelly / phosphoric acid? Me: not so much.

Acids eat concrete. Park the Jeep in the yard or take the parts there when using acid. Grass will grow back if there is a spill that finish on your concrete won’t

    Hello from Carlsbad, CA

Keep us informed if you find a good mechanic. Will be shipping my 2004 wrangler unlimited to Oceanside in a month or two and will be looking for someone to help me keep it running. Will be doing a re-gear as well as moderate lift and 33" tires.

    2004 LJ Re-Gear Thoughts

The O/P's profile say 99 tj. Wouldn't that be 32RLE not a 42RLE?? Without the 42's deep O/D gearing a 32 would give very high rpm at 70mph with 5.13 gears. 4.56 or even 4.10 would be better ratio if it is a 32. Just want to be sure we're talking apples to apples not apples to oranges.

    Polestar electric cars

The North Star is also know as the Pole Star. It's in a position of true north for the next few thousand years. Got a friend who recently bought a new Volvo, doesn't like me asking how his Chinese car is working out. How did you find a picture of a pole dancer with cloths on???

Warning tone when key inserted and starter won't actuate

The problem was the ignition switch. Why did the damn thing decide to stop working just because it sat for months??? The LT has had long periods of disuse as it only has 28,000 miles and was owned by snow birds who spent the winters here.

Warning tone when key inserted and starter won't actuate

The bigger hammer theory didn't work though I had high hopes remembering an MG that i had in College that needed regular abuse of the starter in the winter. Mahalo for the tip JKP. Got a mechanic to come by and check the car out. Not getting spark from the ignition switch though he doesn't...

    Changing the 42RLE shift points?

See if I've got this right?? The 42RLE is actually a 3 speed transmission with an overdrive. Turning off O/D locks out overdrive/4th gear and shifts lock-up from O/D to 3rd gear. It also may change the shift points for the transmission. Proper gearing (4.88-5.13-5.38) makes the O/D livable...

Warning tone when key inserted and starter won't actuate

Finally got a strong enough anti-biotic so my pneumonia is in retreat and I've had enough energy to do a bit more problem solving on the 'no start' issue. Still nothing happens when key is turned. Jumped direct from battery to starter solenoid and got nothing. There is some electricity at...
