    A rebuild of #miRustyJeep...

Looks good, Mike. I’m working on installing GR corners now. I’m too lazy to learn how to paint or wrap plus while not rusty, my TJ’s body has never been pristine, so raw it is. I wondered what those plates were for. Maybe if I had read the instructions🙄 I skimmed them but found some issues so I...

What did you do to / in your garage / shop today?

I had a little 2# spool of 309 wire for stainless show up cracked but luckily still useable. I tried to buy the stainless wire in town but our local Airgas didn't have it or know when they could get it. Still, shopping locally is almost always my preference for a bunch of reasons, when possible.

Recommendations for Upgrading Stereo & Speakers

The BLAM Relax 130mm (5.25") speakers come with a tweeter and woofer. They can be had as coaxial (the tweeter mounted over the center of the woofer) or component (in which case the woofer and tweeter are separate). The component tweeter and woofer run on one channel, just like the coaxial. I...

Recommendations for Upgrading Stereo & Speakers

I recently did a new sound system. Based on recs of audiophiles on this site, I went with and I am very impressed with Blam relax 130mm (5.25”) speakers; Coaxial for sound bar and component for the dash. The dash tweeters are mounted on top corners aimed at driver’s head. They are low impedance...

Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

Its been a couple of weeks since I’ve caught up on your thread, Rick. This SUCKS. I’m hoping for some magic here because we all want to see you and your Jeep in Moab this June.

Woodrow's 97 Green TJ Moderate Build

Close. The pic was from Onion Creek; the trail in the valley that you look out on from Top of the World.

Thank you and many thanks again for the advice on the sound system set up. The speakers are amazing. Yes, he is an Aussie. We have 2, him and his half brother. You are right, they are really great dogs. Here’s a pic of both in Moab last year: As I’m sure you know, their energy is infectious...

    30 spline Dana 30 options?

According to RGA, the splines are cut for the Discovery series and rolled for the USA made version. Smaller U-joints being the other diff.

    30 spline Dana 30 options?

That's good info. I know you, in particular, wheel your rig hard. I'll look into superior. Similar to off-shore RGA?

    30 spline Dana 30 options?

After moving up to 35s, I need to re-gear. I have a super 35 in the back (30 spline w/ e-locker) and LP Dana 30 out front with 27 spline 4340 shafts and and e locker. After thinking about axle options a lot, I decided to goto a front HP30 and found a decent one last weekend which I pulled from a...

New Tow Pig - Considering a Topper - Thoughts?

Nice truck. I have a Snug Top canopy on my Dodge that I've had for 16 years. Its fine and functional. We got it for the dogs when the kids were in the back seat. The door is not as waterproof as you might think and needs periodic maintenance. The canopy also blocks your view somewhat. Lastly...

I have a FASS on my Dodge. I’m not a fan of all the noise it makes.

    Arizona Rock Crawling Daily Driver

On this topic and your recent design thread, I’ve been wondering about your current avatar. Is that a frame side front track bar mount? If so, that seems stronger/more durable than stock. Using a fully captured heim joint in that orientation makes more sense to me for that purpose.

Like so many motor homes. Its fun to ID the cars that lights came from while you're cruising down I-5 for hours. My wife is also amused at how easily entertained I can be at times.

Woodrow's 97 Green TJ Moderate Build

It took some reading, planning and reaching out to forum members like @skrelnik and @JMT who were both very helpful. Taking apart the interior and the wiring is a bit tedious which is maybe why I put it off. My wiring game is much improved these days so that helped. I do recommend the the BLAM...

Woodrow's 97 Green TJ Moderate Build

I have neglected updating this thread with regard to my sound system for a few months (6 to be precise). I had been living with the PO’s Sony head unit and some mismatched aftermarket speakers since I picked up my TJ 5 years ago. The sound was tinny and mostly useless above parking lot speeds...
