Thinking about deleting the smog system

I had a friend who had an FJ 40 with smog pump inop and he could not get it registered in Colorado. In TX it does not matter after 22 years. You might want to consider the ramifications of your actions.

Oil pressure dipping low after heating up

Agreed: If you need a new engine then you can do the clutch at that time it must come off. The most important thing in my opinion is the oil pressure issue. It could cause a catastrophic failure in the long run.

Oil pressure dipping low after heating up

When I was just a little tike I had a Ford F100 with a 390. When it got hot the oil pressure would drop to 0. I used lots of STP to bring up the oil pressure and it worked for a time. When I pulled the engine to rebuild it was gummed up very badly. My recommendation is to purchase a mechanical...

Should I replace total front brakes or just parts?

There is nothing wrong with just replacing just the worn out parts and keeping the serviceable ones. We do it every day and it is considered completely allowed and within industry standard for the automotive industry but if you have the money and wish the peace of mind to know that you have...

A theory: improper wheel balancing due to temporary flat spotting

Road Force Balancing or Force Matching works on some tires under some circumstances. If you have a tire which has a high spot on it and a wheel which has a low spot you can sometimes match the high and the low spot up to compensate but you don't always have good outcomes it varies per procedure.

Using an additive to fix a rear main seal leak

In my opinion, from a 35 year Toyota Master Diagnostic Technician is to replace the seal with the factory seal and follow the repair manual procedure and the leak will be fixed. Worked on my 06 LJ.
