    Using your Jeep to tow

UPDATE: Jeeps aren't meant to tow. However, it did the job. Hauled 3500 extra lbs of weight almost 2000 miles. I'll buy a truck before I ever do that again though. Had 1000 extra lbs in the jeep, the trailer weighed 1000 and the load on the trailer was 1500. No big issues besides ripped tarps...

Cylinder 3 misfire and P0303 code

Do what they have said first, but that wasn't my issue. My head needed to be rebuilt. The sleeves on multiple valves were junk. What they're suggesting is a lot cheaper and easier, and could be the only problem. If that doesn't fix it, bring it to a mechanic to do a compression test and leak...

    Using your Jeep to tow

Doesn't have trailer brakes but I'll definitely be taking it slow.

    Using your Jeep to tow

How's the gas mileage with the 4.0 and a trailer?

    Using your Jeep to tow

In about 3 and a half weeks I'll be towing a decent sized trailer 1000 miles with my jeep. Guessing the weight will be around 1500. Does anyone have any experience with this? How much slower do I need to drive on the freeway? Jeep is running great and I have brand new BF Goodrich Ko2 31's on it...

Need help choosing mud / street tires

Right now I have no lift and 33's which are fairly agressive. I know that sounds crazy and yes I had to take of the fender flares to get them on. Yes they rub when I turn too sharp, no I don't wheel it how it is right now for that reason. I will be putting a lift on it soon enough. I have a set...

New from North Dakota: P0303 code and cylinder 3 misfire

$560ish. I could have got a remanufactured head for less but whatever. It's done now.

Yes. Got the head cleaned and completely rebuilt. It had like 3 or 4 sticky exhaust valves.

Just took it out for the first time and wow. It's like a completely different vehicle. It's never ran this well the entire time I've had it. Thanks again for all the help everyone.

New from North Dakota: P0303 code and cylinder 3 misfire

Definitely found my leak. Definitely my fault. I forgot to clean off the thermostat housing somehow. There was like huge pieces of the old gasket on there. I feel pretty stupid about this one.

What vehicle would you own if you couldn't own a Wrangler?

I agree with the WRX but if money wasn't a problem, dodge viper. My roommate actually has a fairly well built WRX pushing over 400 whp (he put it on the dyno last spring). I've gotten to drive it a few times and I can say hands down it's the fastest car I've ever driven.

    Winch suggestions

Definitely going to go with some sort of Warn. I also try to support USA made products. Thanks to everyone for their input. And Jerry do you know why it would take less amperes to power a bigger winch with the same load? That almost makes me want to get a 9000 or a 10000 lb winch. Might be...

4WD won’t work on my new 2003 Jeep Wrangler TJ

Looks clean. How much did you pick it up for?

Where do you find these? When I tore my engine apart I pulled these off and they fell apart so they definitely need replaced before I go on a nearly 2000 mile road trip.

    Winch suggestions

First off I'd like to thank everyone on this forum that has helped me out since i joined. This forum and it's members have helped me out very much and I'm extremely grateful. Anyways, I've had my jeep a little over 3 years now and haven't exactly needed a winch being in North Dakota. I'll be...

I did pull the fender and tried many things to pick up on the left exhaust manifold because it was just slightly too low. Whoever said jeeps are easy to work on is either a liar or never put that bolt in.
