    It just happened!

Hey @Irun , can you post a pic of your gates tstat housing? Like you, I've had good luck with their water pumps, but when I bought their tstat housing it was pretty rough ... more than I felt like cleaning up. I had much better luck w/ the Dorman.

Any difference in 2.5 exhaust manifolds?

Don't worry about the grinding. I did not even bother to pull out calipers. I just put the old manifold up near the new one and my son used the flap disk until the two parts were visually near the same thickness. Once close, use the intake manifold ( while still off the jeep) and put them...

    Exhaust Manifold Replacement Walk-Through?

Yeah. I am sure it will crack like all the others, but for the price and the fit, I would definitely purchase it again. This is a very easy procedure on our engines, so even if it lasts only 2-3 years, ill be happy. to be honest, I kind of look forward to swapping it out again. The 4.0...

Before I do any maintenance, I mark all the steps on a white board and track torque settings and tool sizes ... it makes it so my son and I can work in parallel and do things quickly. I scribble notes on the whiteboard and later move the notes to excel. So, since you asked for a write up...

    P0441 on 1997 TJ 4.0 with 65,000 original miles

I think you've got the bases covered. But I was surprised on my 97 when I ran compressed air through the hoses how much crud came out. I did have a leaky canister though. In addition to ensuring the lines seal properly, you may want to give them a cleaning. Also, double check the routing of...

Who changes their own oil here?

Changing the oil is cheep to pay someone else. But I do my other routine maintenance... like rotating the headlights, tuning the horn, lubing the brake pads to keep them from squeaking ... all the normal stuff.

Why do my 30" tires rub?

Thanks! Yes I am. My son & I picked up a broken down '97 SE, 30RH in Lapis Blue, toed her back to our house and have been restoring her back to full health. She had a clogged radiator and blown head gasket amongst other issues. But she is driving all around the island now and back having fun.

Why do my 30" tires rub?

I can not say why yours rub, but I can tell you that KO2's on stock rims on my stock 97 SE also rubbed. A couple washers per side on the stops fixed it up. I guess I lost some turning radius, but I do not really notice.
