Any suggestions on what type of oil to use on a 97 Wrangler with 205k miles?

If it says "Synthetic Blend", it probably is synthetic blend. If it doesn't say Synthetic Blend, it probably is, anyway. The Pennzoil website doesn't show a single product which doesn't have synthetic in it, including the red label yellow jug shown above. Even if you go to the Pennzoil webpage...

    Bulb grease?

Exactly. You don't really need to improve an electrical connection if you have clean contacts touching firmly. Anything you can apply to that contact point won't really improve the conductivity, short of adding gold plating. Keeping the contacts from degrading is what it's all about.

10 Worst Car Oil Filter Brands

BNPF is new to me, although I occasionally deal with other ancient encoding methods. I look up a lot of stuff on 50 year old 8-bit microprocessors. Way before Al Gore invented the Internet. ;) But to get this thread back on track, before we get in trouble: I just ordered a couple of Fram Ultra...

10 Worst Car Oil Filter Brands

Yes, 40 year old "Internet articles" are a bit sparse, although you might find some ancient ARPANET stuff somewhere. But 40 year old articles, or even thousands of years old articles, on the Internet are common. Including some of the stuff Mr. Lincoln really did say. I particularly dislike...

Too bad — you should have bought tires that would let you go 90mph uphill. :D I'd like to find some of those too.

... along with ancient information without a date stamp. I get so frustrated looking up articles and finding no date, and after reading them I realize that they're 20 years old. Or 40. Who would know?

    Did not pass NYS inspection

Mine had the O2 and Evap monitors not clearing for many months. After the TSB mod, the O2 monitor cleared immediately on starting. But the Evap monitor needed a short drive around the neighborhood before it cleared. I checked an older and newer version of the TSB, and neither mentioned Evap...

    Minimal Tire Carrier Bumper

A 1.25" body lift will raise a 33" tire enough to clear the bumper, in case you're headed in that direction. A 1/2" spacer between the tire carrier and the wheel will help, along with trimming the bumpers by about 1/2".

@luckystr1k3 what tire pressure are you running? I don't think I've seen that info in this thread yet. Should be about 25-27 PSI on your 33x12.5 tires.

Subaru Outback does Swan River Middle Fork

Breckenridge, CO. Yesterday, we ran Swan River North Fork uphill, and across the top to Middle Fork, and back down. When we came down the "obstacle" (steep, very rocky section) we found a Subaru Outback in trouble. He had come in from another easier trail and got onto this one in error. He had...

Problem with Savvy motor mount lift

I'm installing a Savvy Motor Mount Lift, and ran into a problem. I have one of the extensions mounted on the OEM motor mount stud, and I'm trying to "slip" it into the lift block. Pushing, shoving, tapping with a rubber mallet does nothing. So I checked the other pair, and they're the same...

    Interesting OPDA findings

Okay, it's the modern digital version of a timing light. Thanks for explaining it. So do I have this right? The PCM doesn't really do anything special, it just responds to inputs from the DRB. The DRB sends an idle value, and then starts reading a timing value or two. Compares those and...
