Thoughts on OTC u-joint / ball joint tool vs Harbor Freight vs rental

I got all spicer ball joints both spicer front axle ujoints and both Timken wheel bearings off of summit racing for a hair over $300. Might as well replace it all while you’ve got it all tore down, but that’s just my opinion

Thoughts on OTC u-joint / ball joint tool vs Harbor Freight vs rental

I just used what was in the harbor freight kit and it did work but you have to be careful to get them going in straight, the adapters would definitely make it a lot easier without the worry. Edit: I actually had to use a wrench to keep them going in at the right direction

Thoughts on OTC u-joint / ball joint tool vs Harbor Freight vs rental

I just used the harbor freight ball joint press this weekend to do ball joints and ujoints. It worked well for me but I kept the threads greased and didn’t use a impact on it either. I just tightened it down and used a 3lb hammer to hit the spindle and would torque it down some more until they...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Changed ball joints on driver side and learned the hard way about forcing a ujoint while replacing the one on my front axle while I was at it. Now I have to wait for them to ship out another ujoint. I won’t make that same mistake on the passenger side lol

How to align your Jeep Wrangler TJ

The other day while on my way to work a deee decided to commit suicide. There was no damage to the Jeep thanks to my front bumper but it did seem to knock it out of alignment. Thanks to this thread I decided to try it myself and wow was it easy to do. I did it with a tape line and help from the...

TJ Intake Shootout w/ Dyno Results (JP Magazine)

I just took off an AEM Brute Force intake and TB spacer and installed the factory system. It might just be in my head but I swear it feels if the Jeep is running better.
