    SOLD Mopar Door Surrounds

$60 + Shipping Selling the door surrounds that came with my Jeep when I bought it. I do not have the hardware to attach it to the rollbar. The folding hinge lock bolts need to be replaced as they are rusted, the hinge pin is fine. Local pickup in Durham, NC but I have them currently folded in...

    Project Billd a Jeep

One of the front turn blinker enclosures had some water in it so I removed it, pried it apart and reattached it using silicone caulk. It's been rained on a few times since and is leak free now Also, googled some images of tjs and these are normally orange right but looks like maybe the 03-04...

How to Install a Double DIN Head Unit and New Speakers in a Jeep TJ

I don't really have any good before pictures but the ac controls barely moved. I shimmed the controls out with 1/8 inch nylon washers but it wasn't entirely necessary, just was a small gap and I thought it looked better. The profile of the dash is pretty much identical so none of the switches...

How to Install a Double DIN Head Unit and New Speakers in a Jeep TJ

Big reason why I love Android auto/carplay for navigation. No reaching for my phone ever. It's disturbing driving around and seeing so many people looking down and then occasionally glancing up at the road...

    Project Billd a Jeep

That remains to be seen but in principle it should last for a few years on foam that's in good shape. On the seat edge it might not last as long as even though I'll try my best not to compress it excessively it's difficult to get in and out without doing so.

How to Install a Double DIN Head Unit and New Speakers in a Jeep TJ

Thanks! I have a build thread that I started when I first got the jeep that's linked in my signature, do you see it? I plan to put everything I do to the jeep in the build thread and make videos for the bigger things that are less jeep specific (painting doors, reupholstering seats, etc.)

How to Restore a Compressed Seat Cushion Edge

Let everyone know how that one works! I think it will be fine as long as you don't tip it forward too much. One with a flexible hose/handle is a bit easier to manage but they are more expensive so it would be good to know if you get good results with that cheap handheld one

How to Restore a Compressed Seat Cushion Edge

Definitely worth a look if I come across any black ones. I got the half doors for a good price and I'm interested in learning how to do automotive painting as it would serve me well going forward so I'll likely just repaint them here before summer. I've used an hvlp gun for woodworking several...

How to Restore a Compressed Seat Cushion Edge

With cloth upholstery it's definitely worth a try, I haven't tested it personally yet. I don't think the steam would penetrate leather or vinyl. It could also potentially shrink either of those, which is a desirable effect in some instances, but not helpful for restoring the foam

How to Make a Permanent Stirrup Step

She (my wife) told me I had to have something for her... Now she has something that she approved so it better get used haha

How to Make a Permanent Stirrup Step

I recently bought a 2004 Rubicon TJ (my dream car) and made a few videos about it. My wife couldn't get in the Jeep easily, and I liked the idea of a stirrup step but the ones you can buy that hook over the side of the tub seemed like a potential hazard if it were to slip. Instead I made her a...

How to Restore a Compressed Seat Cushion Edge

I recently bought a 2004 Rubicon TJ (my dream car) and made a few videos about it. The left side of the seat cushion was compressed and worn out so I restored the foam as well as I could without replacing it.

How to Install a Double DIN Head Unit and New Speakers in a Jeep TJ

I recently bought a 2004 Rubicon TJ (my dream car) and made a few videos about it. One of the first things I did was to upgrade the head unit and speakers.

Long time lover of Jeeps, first time owner!

Hey all! I've wanted to buy an older jeep for a longgg time and now I'm the proud owner of a 2004 Rubicon TJ! I've attached a video below that will do a much better job introducing me and my Jeep than any words I can write here. The video is about why I've wanted a Jeep for so long, and in the...

    Project Billd a Jeep

Haha I enjoyed making it. I've had that little toy YJ on my desk for years and the idea just popped in my head a few weeks ago

    Project Billd a Jeep

Video is done and posted. There's some background about why I wanted a Jeep at the beginning but then I get into working on it (audio install, seat foam restoration, making a stirrup step) around the 5 minute mark

    Project Billd a Jeep

Did a wife-mod to the jeep today. Made a stirrup step that's attached by a seat frame bolt, seems to work great. She's happy with it so I'm happy with it!

    Project Billd a Jeep

I'll cover this in detail in the video I'm making (might be done by the end of next week... optimism!) but I did some work to restore the driver's side seat cushion that had been compressed by too many butts... and made me feel like I was sliding out of the seat to the left side. Essentially...

    Project Billd a Jeep

Also, picked up some goodies this weekend. Got a pair of oem half doors including the soft uppers in really good shape for $400 and an oem instatrunk for $60. All are the wrong color so I've got some painting work to do/learn in my future
