Thanks Jerry, I would love to go to a Dana 44, but I'm having trouble finding one locally and I'm on a bit of a budget (wife). So I found a Dana 35 and I want to swap it while I rebuild the diff in my current one. BTW, does running a 44 with the front still being a 30 cause any problems? Glenn

I'm planning on replacing my entire rear axle Dana 35 1:3.73 on my TJ Sport 4.0L Manual. My current setup has ABS and I found a 2000 TJ Sport 4.0L Manual that a local is parting out, but he's not sure it has ABS. Can I replace an ABS rear with a non-ABS rear?

So here is my dilemma, I have done exactly those steps, exactly and I'm a fairly mechanical/intelligent guy. But the "minimal resistance" part is escaping me. When I have the side gear in place, on the vise, on the shaft, splines engaged, even then the gear has some resistance (albeit minimal)...

The clutches are spring activated, so they need to be pressed for the smaller gears to fit. But when you put pressure on them, like with a nut and bolt, they activate and don't want to spin. AAAArrrgggg....

I'm attempting to replace the spider gear in my 2000 TJ Dana 35 rear with Track Loc. I cannot for the life of me get the smaller gears to slide into place. The videos make it look so easy?? What am I doing wrong?

I recently purchased a used rear axle shaft for my Dana 35 (Drivers side). The shaft seems identical, except the ABS toner ring is larger on the new (albeit used) shaft. Is the larger ring OK to use? Can I just re-position the sensor?

I don't think Revolution amkes them with ABS???

I need to replace my drivers side rear axle shaft on my 2000 Dana 35 / 4.0L manual w/ABS. Are both side identical (they look identical)? Also any suggestions for the replacement???

Thank you for the advice Rob. I gave it shot last night and had little success. I cannot believe that this gear seems welded to the shaft. it will not budge, even with significant persuasion. I know the shaft is shot and I'm sure the clutches are destroyed by now, with me pounding on them.
