So I went and checked for corrosion like you said and there was corrosion on the pins and the black connector. Not a ton but definetly noticeable. Mechanic connected his computer again and it kept saying no signal when he would hit the gas. Basically it would get a signal and then it wouldn't.

Well it has been a week or so since I posted on here. For those wondering what is wrong with my Jeep honestly I don't know. It will start up and die. Sometimes it will start up and run for 10-15 seconds and die. Other times it will crank and not start but if I stop cranking and wait and crank...

I don't have an under hood light but maybe the previous owner got rid of it. When you say "doubt it" do you mean you don't think it is the computer or you don't think they tested it or both?

The 2nd mechanic did some tests and came to the conclusion that the ECU was bad.

When I had it running and I pushed on the wires on the back of the connector the idle came down and it started idling correctly. I replaced the connector and now that part is fine.

I know you didn't say anything about mas air flow. I thought that is what you meant when you said it was supposed to plug into something on the air intake. Sorry-my bad! I will try to get a picture later today if I can. Thank you!

Thank you for your reply! I already took the Jeep to a different Mechanic that a lot of my friends suggested to me. It is an aftermarket intake but my original one did not have any plugs or a mass air on it. If that would of been on there I would of made sure I got one with the appropriate plug...

Does anyone know what this connector would be for from my 2000 Jeep Wrangler 4.0? It looks like a connector for a fuel injector but it is back by the firewall

Update: found the fuse for the instrument panel replaced it and everything works again.
