Let's see photos of your TJ with A-pillar lights

Thanks for the input! It's interesting, didn't think a spot-light would be a favorite. I was initially looking for some floods to shine to the sides, but these KCs just look soo nice.

Side mirrors: old style versus new

Like you, I prefer the look of the early style. But the later style mirrors are just so much easier to use.

    Alternator Upgrade

I've had the issue since buying it stock. A Warn M8000 has a max amp draw of 435 amps, so it makes sense that the battery would be drained with a 117 amp alternator. In my case, it's draining much quicker than on my previous vehicles, going down to ~10 volts shortly after beginning to winch...

Am I the only one who thinks a snorkel on a TJ is crazy?

How thick is that roof, 22 gauge !?

    Alternator Upgrade

I couldn't give you any concrete info, but this is something I need to look into as well. My dash voltage gauge drops significantly during winching, and I'm not sure whether the alternator or the old battery is the issue.

    Alternator Upgrade

Is your current alternator not keeping up?

Am I the only one who thinks a snorkel on a TJ is crazy?

I haven't heard of this problem either. Any modern car should be able to get through an automatic car wash, no issues. Now pointing a pressure washer directly at the fusebox/PCM is a different story, no amount of grease will help you.

    Rubicon Express Long Arm Replacement?

I've yet to learn the technical aspect of outboarding. It just seems like in an area where fractions of an inch matter, a major change like an axle swap/tire upgrade would radically shift the shock position/angle. But now it seems like repositioning the new lower shock mount properly is all...

    Rubicon Express Long Arm Replacement?

Comments like this get me reinterested in an outboard every time. Seems like heck of an upgrade for something that's ~ 1/3 the cost of the midarm upgrade. I'll ask the group this, since we've been derailed anyway. Is there a precedent for keeping an outboard after an axle swap? Say I outboard...

    Message from Gerald at Savvy

His last couple messages have been more concrete. By the sound of it, the general design is the same with some minor changes due to the new dies. I think Flux’s bumper is a solid contender. Probably what I’ll go with once my axles are done.

I have received that same exact timeline 3 times over the past several months.

    Rubicon Express Long Arm Replacement?

Key phrase there.. Most miss it.

    Rubicon Express Long Arm Replacement?

The way I see it, if the angle difference is as insignificant as JJ says, there’s no reason to postpone the outboard. You already have the shocks. Just my 2 cents.

    Rubicon Express Long Arm Replacement?

Thanks, that question has been at the back of my mind for some time now. @JMT we were talking about exactly this the other day.

    Rubicon Express Long Arm Replacement?

That’s what I was thinking as well. This was Trevlaw’s ROTM pic. Safe to say most of us aren’t doing this with our TJs 🫣

    Rubicon Express Long Arm Replacement?

So does this angle difference come from the need to position your shock perpendicular to the lower CA, the angle of which changes when going to a midarm?

    Rubicon Express Long Arm Replacement?

@Trevlaw and @NashvilleTJ are two that come to mind that’ve found the limits of a 2.0 shock.
