    Not sure where the misunderstanding is...... I suppose you interpreted my post as support for the shift light somehow. Notice the "" around the word "correct". Prefaced with ; never was the......"correct" this implies that I don't agree with the use of the term. And trying to compare gear...

    The cruise RPM has nothing to do with the shift points and or the light.

    This^^^^ Then throw in bigger tires and other mods the OE algorithm goes out the window. It never was the "correct" shift point, just the most "efficient" one.

    R134a systems are done by weight, when done correctly. Be sure to use a product WITHOUT leak sealer so when you end up at a shop it doesn't gum up their equipment.

    Yes. You have diagnostic trouble codes for a lean condition, why are you throwing parts at it that have nothing to do with that? The ECM is trying to tell you something.

    Find and Fix the lean code issue(s). 1) the codes are there to help in diagnosis. 2) the computer is trying to compensate for the (perceived) lack of fuel/excess air. 3) test the O2 sensors after checking for vacuum leaks.

    Regulator diaphram ruptured. Located on fuel rail. There is a rubber diaphram inside.

    Pull the vacuum hose at the fuel pressure regulator and check for fuel. With that low of fuel mileage and soot and smell at the tail pipe that's a high probability.
