Is it as simple as cutting the stock bracket off and welding the new double shear bracket on? I don’t currently have it lifted but it will be next year. I spoke with the people and Barnes and they have a bracket that is double shear and is good for stock height and lifted.

Yeah the weld they did has worn out and there is no good way to fix it. Added photo.

I went with an 8” sub in the center console. As for the power wire, there is a rubber grommet in the fire wall that you can punch through.

Thanks for all the detail too btw. Just looking for a good lift for the LJ.

Hello - Has anyone installed the Metalcloak 3.5” lift on their TJ or LJ? If so, have you had good luck with it? Also, if I go with a 3.5” lift, do I need to regear?

No, I didn’t have any luck. All the lights I tried didn’t fit correctly.

Not sure. I’ve had great luck with MetalCloak. This fit easy with the stock exhaust I have.

Switched to mopar seal and it worked! Had a leak coming from starter as well because so much oil was slung into it. Got really lucky with the OEM seal. There was only one on the east coast and it was 30 miles from home. So the thing here is that some say these “just leak”, well that is not...

Just following up. We decided to pull everything and did a smoke test. The timkin seal keeps leaking. Switching seals. The photo shows the leak at the bottom but the smoke test shows a larger portion of the seal leaking.
