I am looking to get a little space between my frame and skid plate on my stock TJ just so I can keep it clean for rust prevention. Is that ok to do, or will it cause misalignment of the tranny? If it is ok, can anybody make some recommendations for how much space is ok, and what I should use...

I wasn’t suggesting that the weak stabilizer was the cause, just that it wasn’t strong enough to stop the unbalanced tire from throwing me into a wobble, that’s all.

Fortunately, the guys at the shop I go to are awesome, and if that hadn’t worked out I would definitely come here for thoughts before going crazy replacing parts. I was just very surprised.... I always thought death wobble was for people with lifts/suspension mods.

Those sound like a great idea. I have the holes at each end already, and that makes drainage much better. Don’t know why I didn’t think of holes between those bolts, too... I guess just focusing on whether I could even safely put spacers in before I thought any further.

Why not a socket with an extension? Are they likely to break off?
