    Bartact woes

Yup I think we can call this officially derailed. Good luck with your Bartacts or whatever route you go. I haven't had much issue with the tread pattern imprinting on my arm BUT my Maine Summers are much different then your Texas Summers so heat might be an issue.

    Rear Headrests in a TJ?

Not able to get pictures from my jeep since it is currently getting new frame sections welded on. But here is a clip from the manual. The hinge is just that small bar with a eclip. If you take the seat out for any reason you have to pull that clip and risk losing it. Also you will have the...

    Rear Headrests in a TJ?

It is about as good as the OEM seats. But I am not a big fan of the latching system they used or the seat mounts. I prefer the OEM style.

Is Smittybilt really that low quality?

The couple of items I have had that were smittybilt have done ok in the rust belt of New England. BUT haven't had any smitty armor, just a winch plate and couple of antenna bases. I have had a couple of issues with other brands over the years. Power coat cracks and then salty slurry seeps...

    Bartact woes

To OP. If you are looking for a console cover it won't match but I have been happy with the wheel tread one they have on quadatrec. It is kind of gimmicky but it has held up over the last three years with even with young kids and dogs using the jeep as jungle gym

TJR Axle Set on Marketplace in RI

Been watching that for a bit now. Wish I had the free funds to go for it. Would have to add close to $300 for gas to get down there.

    Is this frame rot fixable?

From the a Northeast jeep owner perspective, honestly if this isn't your jeep or getting it for free walk away. If the frame has that much rust then most of the bolts in the jeep are going to have issues. From working on the suspension to replacing fender's pretty much all of the bolts are...

    Re-gearing cost / advice

No it was over the phone because the shop is about an hour away and he isn't open when I am not at work. He did give me separate totals for projected labor and parts. My number was just a total.

    Re-gearing cost / advice

Just got a quote from a local shop for a regear to 5.13. He quoted $2500 unseen included parts, oil, and since I am at almost 200k seals and bearings

Wisconsin Cobra C75WXST Handheld CB Radio

I have the same model. That is the whole system minus the antenna and antenna cable. Probably will need to extend the power lines depending on your setup.

    Anti-rust paint for floor

Welcome to the show. I am just a bit north of you in Maine. When you get a chance check the inside of your frame especially where the skid plate bolts up. It can be a very sneaky place that rust hides.

    Solar eclipse craziness

I agree but sometimes close enough is good enough. The area of Maine that will get 100% totality is going to be mobbed. Last time this occurred there were massed traffic snags. People ran out of gas, got stuck in rural dirt roads, It is the beginning of the thaw / mud season up here. There...

    Solar eclipse craziness

My kids school is getting out early so that they can watch the event. Though my work isn't letting me out early so it is a wash. We live in an area of 90%. The amount of people headed up to Rangeley and that area for the 100% is insane.

    Reconditioning Moab Wheels

Local person selling Moab Wheels for $50 but they are pretty scratched up. Is there a way to recondition them? Winter is setting in so if it was just a matter of sanding them with increasing grit I can spend the time doing that. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1106084417026296/
