What did you do to your TJ today?

Hello everyone! Spent all afternoon tracking down the issue of blower only working on high. Guy at napa told me it couldn't be the blower relay. I had already replaced the blower resistor, so purchased a new switch only to find the switch in my TJ is not like the ones that show listed for it...

    Tire rack question

I pulled up the invoice and it came out to $43.75 per tire. That includes their road hazard warranty, which has come in handy in past. The tires tho were listed at over $200 ea on discount tire website, and they matched the tire rack price of $139 ea.

    Tire rack question

Like Jerry B mentioned give your local tire shop a try. Discount Tire in my town matched the price tire rack showed on their website. Of course mounting n balancing was extra. All I had to do was show rep the price on their web site for the tires I wanted (BF Goodrich KO2).

    Stock-sanity

Thanks! The Jeep came with aftermarket 17" rims (top photo), but I had a set of 15" canyons from a 01 Wrangler I bought from a friend who was going the larger wheel route for me to use on a Ford ranger. I fucked 2 of them up boring out the hubs to fit the ranger so only needed a couple more to...

Hello! I've been a member since Oct, but haven't posted in a long time. Decided to become a supporting member for to the great info I've found for my first Jeep here and the comrade between members. My Jeep is humble compared to the modified Jeeps most own on this site, but as my thread...

    What's everyone's gas mileage?

I get good mileage, usually 18 to 20 if used as dd to wk (mostly highway). Problem is I don't really know how far I can go past the low fuel light. Usually hits low fuel light around 185 mi, but if I fill up right at the light I'm only able to get 9.8 maybe 10 gal at most. 98 Wrangler Sport...

    Are you a 'motorcyclist'?

The California is a reliable fun to ride machine. I've got over 66000 mi on my jackal. Bought it new in '01 (it's a '00 model).

Category of "why would you build this?"

I kind of like it. There was a guy in Taos where I grew up that put mustang bodies on early bronco chassis. This was in late 70's, early 80's. Not my cup o tea, but I do like it. :sun_smiley:

    What was your first vehicle?

Seems like we have a lot in common. I can't remember exact $ I sold for, but lost money on most: 65 Chevy Impala 2dr 327 v8 pwrglide, 67 Ford Bronco 289 V8 paid too much for it, lots of mech issues but should have stayed with it, 69 Ford Fairlane 390 V8 4 speed stick... Geez got to keep my new...

    What was your first vehicle?

This is a cool thread. Depends on our age but cool veh's all told. My very first veh, I was a junior in high school (1975) and paid $50 for a '56 Ford panel truck. It was a plumbing company truck (ugly paint job) with only the drivers seat. Thought I made out selling it a year and half later for...

    '97 Clicking sound, no start

That also sounds like a bad solinoid. Not sure if it's built into the starter on Jeep, but I know from prev old Fords and Chevy's a bad starter solinoid will just click,. Of course the prev responses are the likely issue. I remember arguing with my dad when I was only 20 yrs old that my 65...

France wants to ban cars that run on gas by 2040

I hate to be a stick in the mud (that's another discussion), but as mentioned previously the carbon footprint is actually higher for electric vehicles. There's nothing wrong with the internal combustion motor. Let's burn cleaner fuels! Hydrogen burns without any CO2. In the short term propane...

What did you do to your TJ today?

OK. This wasn't today but as new owner with a almost 20 yr old tj I crawled underneath made sure everything looked kosher, changed the eng oil (Castrol high milage 10/30), cleaned n oiled the air filter (don't kill me, it came with a after market CAI) then filled it up with premium fuel w...
