How many miles are on your current truck? Is it possible to put some money into it to keep it going as opposed to starting over? If you must buy new, I wouldn't buy anything that required DEF so I'd look real hard at one of the newer big gassers. Otherwise, and I know it seems like a longshot...

Without seeing the opening, like Chris said, steel wool is best. Most rodents love foam but wont eat through steel wool.

I would go with 30x9.50-15. It was offered from the factory and shouldn't kill your 2.5. Good combination of moderate looks and decent performance.

A coworker and I were just talking about this trail a couple of weeks ago. He grew up just down the road from there. He said it's very narrow, very steep and it's near vertical off the trail. Not for the faint of heart. I think I'd walk it before driving it.

Thank you for that assessment. I've heard the Duratracs are a pretty soft rubber, which makes sense that gravel would be hard on them. What do you dislike about the Duratrac?

We ran them on my wifes Xterra. They're good on the road but would not recommend them for mud. As for recommendations, that depends on how much weight the mud side has on your decision. I'd look at Duratracs or Cooper Rugged Treks.
