    Frame Repair

Well I knew when I bought this Jeep back in December that sooner or later i would have to drop the skid plate and asses the frame so I waited until the Indiana weather improved. The frame on the drivers side was actually decent but the passenger side was shot. So i just finished the project of...

    The Rehab Continues

Work has had me busy. For my latest repair, pulled the driver's side seat and dropped it off to an auto upholstery shop that will fix a tear for me. As soon as this crappy Indiana weather breaks which may be never I will start on some corrosion remediation in the frame area. She is in much...

    The Rehab Continues

Just injecting a little humor. Actually rides as good as a Jeep is going to ride. The old shocks were original. Installed OESpetrums. I wouldn't say this Jeep was abused by the last owner, but it was neglected. I do all of my own work on her and have enjoyed the improvements every time it leaves...

    The Rehab Continues

Last weekend was shock day. Replaced all four shocks, still drives like a log truck Lol. I also had a whining noise at idle since the day I bought the Jeep. Finally determined it to be the alternator so that issue is solved now. My final leak is the front oil seal at the vibration damper it it...

    Can’t get my doors off

Driver's side door fixed. Ground the head off of the lower bolt, got the hinge to separate enough to get a cut off whell in to cut it. Dorr off, drove the pins pieces out and installed a new pin. Coat with anti sieze and the door slides on and off no problem.

    Can’t get my doors off

Ok so I got the passenger side good to go. Cleaned up, a little anti seize and the door comes right off. Drivers side is a different story. The lower hinge pin does not rotate with the door like the others. I will order a pin and some bushings and take care of it.

    Can’t get my doors off

So working on the Jeep last weekend in a nice warm garage I attempted to remove the half doors. Obviously they have not been off in years. Googled it and seen a few options using a floor jack to assist. Tried that a little but stopped because I don"t want to damage the door. Any ideas? I intend...

    Wheel question

I am hoping to get some expertise in regard to wheels and need to understand offset. I have no plans to add any type of lift and currently have 31x10.50 tires on stock wheels so obviously i do have a rub issue on hard turns. My question is how do I determine how much offset as it looks like...

    More weekend fun

Well I have owned this Jeep for two months now and I am slowly improving her health. This weekend was spent replacing the rear Differential pinion seal, replacing the oil pressure sending unit and repairing the left side cloth strap that supports the frame for the soft top. Keeps me busy in the...

    Exhaust manifold question

I did and you are correct! Had to cut off the bolts at the converter as well and ended up drilling those out as well. Pulled the front drive shaft and that gave me just enough room. Once i got the correct drill bit combination it was on. Just fired it up this morning, exhaust leak corrected.
