How much stronger is crossover steering?

I stand corrected you are right it was an inverted t, not y. You are correct, in the beginning I had no idea what pieces went with what. The stock steering geometry is not ideal for hydro assist (based on the research i've done and the people i've talked to ) But since the inverted t is better...

How much stronger is crossover steering?

Honestly I have had nothing but problems with my currie steering set up with it hitting my diff cover and causing bump steer. I switched to a similar setup to Ruffstuffs "inverted y" except I built mine from scratch and it fixed all my problems.

Let's see photos without the sport bar pads

If you zoom in on my b pillar you can see I lost the tape right at the seat belt but it’s hard to see the tape by the harness bar and the one at the top bend

Let's see photos without the sport bar pads

I used whatever the smaller conduit I could fit the wires in, I think 3/8’s but double check and then used black electrical tape to tie it up against the b pillar, and m3 zip tie - tie downs on the sound bar itself to keep the conduit between the b pillar and sound bar itself. If pull the...

Let's see photos without the sport bar pads

I pulled my padding off long ago and put raptor liner on it and its held up great to trees, rocks and getting flopped :ROFLMAO: also steel fenders for the win. Last pic with winch line out shows there wasn't any damage to the cage or rest of the body for that matter. so my vote is get rid of...

POR15, Lizard Skin, and tummy tuck questions

I'm running the ucf ultra high clearance and I had to make a custom exhaust with a new muffler since there was no way it was fitting between the tub and skid. For undercoating my tub, I used Eastwood's rust encapsulator platinum. Also used it on my axles and frame and I can tell you the stuff...

    Upgrade to 37s or 35s

Unpopular opinion here but You 100% can run 37’s on tj rubicon 44’s and wheel trails that you need them. The lockers will not hold up at all (blew up both last year) but replace them with aftermarket ones and run chromoly shafts and you’ll be fine as long as you don’t jump it. I’m at 98.5 inch...

The ultimate setup for 33 inch tires?

My opinion is as long as you can keep at least 4 inches of up travel you are golden. Raising the Frame as high as you can only raises your center of gravity and does absolutely nothing to get your control arm mounts at the axle, steering and differentials out of the way. A 2.5 SL, 1.25 BL and a...

Question about long arms, short arms, and stretching an LJ

To answer the threads questions. First to answer between short arm and long arm. It changes the arc of the axle when it is raised and lowered with respect to stock spec. Based off looking at the diagram, you can see the red is the long arm and the blue is the short arm kits. You can see how the...

    Rear lockers not engaging

Chock the front wheels and jack it up by the diff housing and put a jack stand on either side of the frame by the skid plate (if you have them). Then lower the jack under the diff housing and that will let the suspension droop down a little which will help get the diff away from everything else.

Are the clutch kits the same for the AX5 and AX15?

@Tony DiDomenico was literally about to post the same thread. Also not to hijack but does anyone have a preferred brand of clutch and flywheel they like in their Tj's?

    The Weekend Fun Build

I did the exact same thing. I would do everything else first @fuse and see what tire you really wana stick with and what works well for your set up and once you are completely sure. then do the regear because I'd hate to see you do what I did. Regear and then 6 months later you want to switch up...

    The Weekend Fun Build

@fuse Since I am in the middle of my second re-gear. I will pass along my knowledge. Only Do It Once. Its a royal PITA not to mention expensive to regear an axle. Especially twice, I was going to go 5.13 but went with 4.88's and wish I would have went deeper. Now im going 5.38 and redoing both...

Hook up the hoses, have someone flip the switch and record the locker to see if anything moves. @Jerry Bransford i believe has mentioned he rebuilt a locker. I wonder if he has any advice. I haven't rebuilt one myself but will be taking my old one apart to see what broke. Mine grenaded 2 weeks...

    Rear lockers not engaging

So do you have the axle jacked up, with the diff cover off, all hoses connected, turn the compressor on, the compressor keeps running and the tires still spin independently? If you still have the cover off, which by the sounds of it, you dont. I'd suggest pulling the cover. unhooking the hose...
