    Versatube Carport

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the company “VersaTube”? I’ve been working on clearing a spot on the side of my house to put up a carport to protect my Gladiator from the elements. I’ve watched some YouTube videos on installing them, and read some reviews on their website...

How many of you have removed the rear seat and seatbelts?

I had removed and sold the rear seat a few years back. I sold my rear seat for $50, and the guy who drove 2 hours to buy it said I should have asked for more, but I wanted it out of the garage. Luckily I tucked the seat belts away in my garage, so I didn’t have to find a set when my wife got...

TJ’s and JT’s: who else has both?

Unfortunately I’ve not gotten to tow any distance with it, I installed the Mopar brake controller and got to test it for a trip around the neighborhood and down to the highway scales by my house. I will say the short trip I took it on, it seemed to tow better then my Tacoma, which I towed the TJ...

TJ’s and JT’s: who else has both?

Do it! The Mojave is awesome. No regrets getting rid of the Taco… that said, I got the Taco in 2017 because I knew it would hold its value when I was ready for a Gladiator.

    NP231 not working in 2wd

So you test drove it fine in 2wd, put it in N to tow it on the dolly, and now 2wd doesn’t work? Are you 100% sure it’s engaged in 2wd all the way? If it was a trans or clutch issue, you wouldn’t have 4hi or 4lo Sounds like with the lift, the linkage is potentially binding and not fully engaging...

TJ’s and JT’s: who else has both?

Wondering who else has both a TJ and a Gladiator? Those that do, how do you spend your time/money on each? In April this year I traded my 2007 Tacoma in for a 2021 Gladiator Mojave. The Gladiator hasn’t gotten much for upgrades, so far I put in an ARB compressor, new wheels, and rear airbags...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Haha I did the opposite- but October on the coast means rain, and a lot of it.

Craigslist score! AX15 and Tcase for free. I plan to separate and rebuild the AX15 this winter. Mine has the infamous 2nd gear stubbornness when cold. I figured for free, it was worth it even if it turns into scrap. Only other update for today was the conversion into winter mode.

    Trutrac or Powertrax no-slip

The rationale is all about the behavior and mannerisms of the two. Powertrax locks up with the torque of the front driveshaft, so in 2wd you’ll never know it’s there. I’m 4wd it is a lot quieter and smoother, making it more friendly. Strength wise I’ve not heard of either one being weaker or...

The last couple weeks I have made it a point to take the daughter and dog out in the TJ, the weather on the coast has been awesome for it. We went driving around logging roads and spur trails, nothing extreme just getting my daughter (1YO) acclimated to being in the jeep, so far she loves it!

2021- Not much building on the TJ. I traded in my Tacoma for a 2021 Gladiator Mojave. I Absolutely LOVE it! I haven’t done a bunch to it, but changed the wheels, added a brake controller, and was given an ARB compressor, that I installed under the hood. The pic of it towing the TJ was just to...

In August of 2020 life changed dramatically for me. My wife and I had our first child, a girl. I had a problem that needed a solution… I needed to find a way to be able to go wheeling as a family, I needed a seat for the baby and space for a 90lb German Shepard, Rosco. I ended up buying a...

2020- wheeling trip for this year was heading east to the Blue Mountains near Tollgate, and wheeling in the snow. This was a first for me, I learned a lot and had a blast! Fresh powder is like nothing else I’ve been in.

After Moab I had a leaky rear axle seal, so I decided it was a good opportunity to upgrade the Dana 44 with some chromoly axles. I finished 2019 by redoing the front ball joints, front axle shafts chromoly, front drive shaft, full exhaust by magnaflow, and took out the 2”BL replaced it with a JKS...

2019- Probably the best year honestly… I ended up taking the Jeep to Moab, which was awesome! Had a blast, was able to do everything I wanted to accomplish, the jeep performed flawlessly. Before going to Moab I added a new bumper, steering box skid, and door skins all by poison spyder. Here...

2018- I FINALLY got around to regearing. Went with 4:88’s and a detroit locker on the rear, kept the lunch box up front. Along with the regear I found a set of poison spyder diff covers for cheap. Wheeling for the year was limited to a few trips to browns camp, continued to be impressed with...

Wow it’s been a long time since I’ve been on here. I disconnected from the inter-web for a while and it was refreshing… since 2017 things have been slow but there has been some progress on the build. I finished up 2017 by doing some light wheeling in browns camp. I added a harness bar and 5...
