That is gonna be sweet! Way more advanced then what I was able to afford.

    Versatube Carport

Figured since they delivered and installed this yesterday I’d give an update on things for those interested in the PNW… West Coast Metals out of Salem Oregon. They delivered and installed a 12x20 with 6 foot legs, 9 extra rock anchors, three sided carport for $2946. Turnaround time was pretty...

    Versatube Carport

For those of you in the Oregon, Washington, and Idaho area… West Coast Metal Buildings appears to be a solid company so far. This quote is for delivery and install included. I put the deposit down today for one. It was explained to me that the way they are able to maintain free delivery is by...

Looking for locker recommendations for 2006 TJ

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IVQPMGC/?tag=wranglerorg-20 Can’t go wrong with a powertrax no slip. It’s virtually undetectable in 2wd. Easy to install on your own and decently priced.

    Versatube Carport

Gravel was delivered this morning. Got it spread around and leveled enough for me right now. Waiting to hear back from West Coast Metal Buildings on the quote/turn around time for them to install or at least deliver so I can install it myself. Will keep you guys updated.

    Versatube Carport

Ok thanks. After finding their price chart, it looks like it’ll be similar to what MrBlaine has been quoted for a 12x21 3 sided shelter, $3000 or so is just a couple hundred dollars more than Versatube and they will install it, seems like a deal to me. They also offer a 20 year warranty on the...

    Ball joint press recommendations?

Not sure what the HF press is like, but I ordered these two a few year ago and it worked to replace mine, and one other TJ’s ball joints… I’ve used the press a few times on various U-joint jobs. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N7CO50E?tag=wranglerorg-20...

    Versatube Carport

Understanding prices have gone up on everything since 2006, do you mind sharing what your grandpa paid for his? Doesn’t look like they have any pricing on their website. There HQ are only 2 hours away from me, so I may inquire about picking it up and installing myself if they are willing. Edit...

    Versatube Carport

Haha that is exactly what my emails were inquiring about. I was originally going to try and get something with one side and the back, which isn’t an option offered on the site, but experienced the same radio silence you talk about when I email them about pricing. I’ve kind of just decided to go...

    Versatube Carport

I had looked at Viking, unfortunately Oregon is not included within their service area.

    Versatube Carport

Thanks man, that is super generous of you! The gravel place is less than a mile from my house and they get directly from a quarry, so they gave me a good deal on delivery.

    Versatube Carport

That is definitely a concern of mine. They do have Home Depot as an authorized dealer, which I’ve considered ordering through them, so at least I have a physical location to go to if I have any problems with what is delivered.

    Versatube Carport

I appreciate the recommendation, but this has already evolved from simply buying a tarp carport from harbor freight, and putting it on the cracked concrete pad, to what it is now… if I was going the route you suggested, then I’d redo the concrete, and build an entire shop with a 2 post lift...

    Versatube Carport

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the company “VersaTube”? I’ve been working on clearing a spot on the side of my house to put up a carport to protect my Gladiator from the elements. I’ve watched some YouTube videos on installing them, and read some reviews on their website...

    Let's talk towing

You will be miserable using a uhaul trailer for any sort of distance. 1st off they don’t have electric brakes, they use surge brakes. There is no adjustments or anything you can do to help compensate for being on the edge of the vehicles towing limits. 2nd there is no way to adjust the...

    Chili pepper build

Haha only problem is there is no “caution” to him, he is a complete wimp!

    Chili pepper build

Yes there were two “straps” that pulled the back part towards the bottom and had hog toes through them and the base.

    Chili pepper build

I’m no Boy Scout, but it was some sort of barrel style knot on mine. Super easy to undo once the seat is removed.

    Chili pepper build

Yesterday I was able to get some maintenance done, greased the tie rods, track bar, ball joints, and front and rear driveshaft. Today I put some miles on it, driving it out to the Fisher covered bridge. Rare occasion for us to have snow.

The unfortunate TJ of the day thread

There is always that guy who thinks it’s necessary to out engineer the original engineers… cuz I guess folding your windshield down just isn’t good enough?
