    That’s good to know.

    Your Jeep in hot weather

From personal experience I would have to agree with Chris. It is 120 at my place more than half the year and it does put a strain on the cars. Fluid level, water pump, radiator etc must be perfect.

    Banks turbo for the 4.0?

I dunno if you guys live in hot places like I do but I’d be really concerned about the extra heat generated by a turbocharger. Sure with an inter cooler you can mitigate some of that but it’s a lot of exhaust piping radiating a lot of heat. Installed a Sprintex charger on my wife’s JK and that...

Whatta y'all do for a living?

Just spent a good half an hour reading through this thread, really interesting stuff. I’m an airline pilot myself, been flying Boeing’s for 19 years and most of it away from home. Grew up in Denmark and landed a solid job with the equivalent to American Airlines, called Scandinavian Airlines...

    No oil pressure

A little update. I was unable to find a mechanical oil pressure gauge for now but when I remove the oil pressure sending unit and run the pump with a power tool it blows oil forcefully. Anyway I decided to remove the valve cover and found a pushrod bent and snapped. Don’t know if this could...

    No oil pressure

Gages are good. I did a self test by holding in the button on the odometer. I’m pretty confident the wiring is ok. Also it seems the valves are ticking somewhat louder so I’m starting to think there’s a blockage in the block or similar. Maybe an air pocket. I just hoped it would be something I...

    No oil pressure

Afternoon everyone Tried to search about this but came up short so here it goes. Out wheeling I suddenly lost oil pressure for no apparent reason and been trying to fix it ever since. Changed the oil pressure sending unit but no avail. Yesterday I took the pan off and changed the oil pump for...

How to install dual batteries in your Jeep Wrangler TJ

That looks great. Personally I’ve wired my winch directly to the main battery on my JK. Reason is I only winch with engine running anyway and the Genesis kit I installed priorities the main charging automatically. I’m doing a lot of winching for my club, record is 12 rescues in one drive and...

What is the best steering for my Jeep Wrangler TJ?

I’ll put this question here, even though it’s power steering. My power steering is leaking substantially, seems to be the steering box. Also there’s a bit of play in the steering itself. So I’ve decided to replace the lot. Steering pump,- and box as well as the hoses. Question is which brand...

    Happy New Year from Dubai

Well, I’ve been driving JK for the last few years. Modding it along the way myself. But lately it started to be a little boring. Driving the Tj brings back the driving to me. A bit like an old Defender I used to drive in the UK. I feel much more connected to this Tj than I ever will to the JK.

    Happy New Year from Dubai

I think I’ll go for a ride in a stock Tj and see the difference. Whatever the previous owner did to it, it certainly goes quite well, particularly at higher rpm. In any case it’s my new project. Tons of stuff to do. I see lots of nice Jeeps here- I’ll be spending a lot of time in this forum. Hehe

    32s vs 33s: Let’s see em!

I don’t think 33”s will go without an offset. These are 3,75 off set if I remember correctly. Personally I wouldn’t go with spacers. I’ve seen wheels nearly come of in the dessert because of failure.

The hood is fibre glass. Custom job I think, it’s a bit flimsy actually. Gotta reinforce it some day.

    32s vs 33s: Let’s see em!

33” x 12.5”. I need to sort the flares so they don’t touch on full compression

    Happy New Year from Dubai

Got my filthy hands on a TJ a couple of weeks ago and I noticed this forum seemed very helpful. Living in Dubai means spareparts and good know how can be hard find. The seller claimed this is a 4.9 stroke even though I’m not convinced,- the engine is definitely not a stock but it is 4.0 of some...
