ya i just cant afford to run good fluid in it at the moment because its got a huge leak but even when its warmed up the gears still grind even when its got full fluid its just old and beat it happens.

really dosent feel like much of an overdrive now that its geard down. before i changed it it felt more like it. guess ur right i really dont know these transmissions at all haha thanks for your help guys really appreciate it

I have a 1997 TJ sport withe the 4.0 straight 6 and the transmission isn't so good at being a transmission. it is the 5 speed and would like to keep it a manual when i swap it. i was wondering if anybody has any upgrade suggestions because i would prefer not to just throw the same thing back in...

its been about as reliable as reliable as your local DMV or the cable company. over the past year ive done clutch, slave cylinder, master cylinder, throughout bearing, pressure plate, stearing box, pitman arm, most of the electrical, radiator fan, axle ,u joints, tranny mounts, bearings, gears...

i use BFG mud terrain 33x12.5 KO2 and those work really well for me some of my buddies run super swampers on their big pickups and because of the jeeps weight and size im able to just float right past them.
