Stock radiator fan vs electric radiator fan

Just last week I was in deep muddy water up to the edge of the front of the hood, didn't really have an option as a friend needed recovery from that direction (although i didn't expect it to be that deep) In order to back out I was at the rev limiter going back and forth several times as the...

    What's this under my battery

Hmm I wonder if in the 06 they just used the intake air temp and years of data collected from other tjs to estimate the battery temp and save a couple of bom parts.

    Banks turbo for the 4.0?

    Banks turbo for the 4.0?

I'm strongly considering this as an option for my LJ but I worry that 37s and a ton of extra weight is already hard on my 42rle, I wonder how long it will live with a turbo.

    Automatic tire deflators

I picked up a set towards the end of last summer as I was sick of fighting with my old 1st gen staun beadlocks not letting the arb deflators run any faster then pushing the pin with a key. Seeing as I do a lot of trail guiding and nubie runs my time was much better spent helping others. These...

    Daytime Running Light Defeat

I've seen this method and unfortunately it still doesn't work for me. I gave my drl module away to a friend in need as mine is only a trail jeep. However I do want my high beam indicator back and I'm trying to figure out. How are US jeeps setup? Do they have a drl module and it's just disabled...

If this isn't the forum (or any Jeep forum) in a nutshell

Although there is some "I'm having the same problem and here's all the things I tried that didn't work" ;) — There must have been a time when we could have said no.

Advice on buying a used Warn winch

Hmm sure felt heavier when I took it off. Apparently I'm just weak. ;) — There must have been a time when we could have said no.

Using bolts and nuts on torque box panel

It would work, but it's such a critical area with so much flexing you would probably need to retorque the bolts about once a week as they back off — There must have been a time when we could have said no.

    Time for a transfer case

Advice on buying a used Warn winch

Loaded with steel cable perhaps but not empty. Fyi the weight difference from 125ft of steel with a steel hook to 125ft of synthetic with an aluminum thimble is probably close to 30 or 40lbs. It's not insignificant but in the grand scheme of a 4500lbs jeep it's not much. Switch if for all the...

How can I prevent someone from releasing parking brake?

They do make those hydraulic ebrake handles with their own master cylinder. You could plumb it into the rear calipers and hide the handle anywhere you want in the jeep. Under the seat perhaps? — There must have been a time when we could have said no.

The unfortunate Gladiator of the day thread

Mu understanding is that jeep said it would never happen. Did that change? — There must have been a time when we could have said no.

How can I prevent someone from releasing parking brake?

Seems like something you could fabricate without much difficulty. For the hand brake perhaps a chunk of plate that goes onto the slot of the center console and has a hole drilled in the top, as well as drilling a hole in the hand brake. Then put a small padlock through the hole to connect em...

    Battery recommendations

Ran a diehard platinum for 6 years it should have been replaced after 5 but I tried to push it. It was regularly hooked up to a charger as the jeep isn't a dd but for the money, I don't the the oddesy is worth it. Get something cheaper with a good warranty. Up here in Canada the best bet seems...

    Help finding a good jack

High lift works great, provided you maintain it, and always fear it. I plan to put this beside where I bolt down my highlift in the back of the jeep. Or if you find yourself in possession of way too much money, arb makes a real nice jack — There must have been a time when we could have...

    Sway Bar Disconnect Link Sizes

Back when I had em, I drilled out the stock bolt right where the nut would sit tight to the link. The only thing I used a washer and a cotter pin to replace the nut. Worked great as free disconnects. Used zip ties to hold it all in. — There must have been a time when we could have said no.

    Looking for on-board air ideas

I've got a couple of 4500psi Scott packs and an 88ci paintball tank rated at 4500psi. I'm thinking I'm going to regulate the paintball tank to something reasonable and see if it fills my tires. That way I can leave the Scott pack back at camp in the tow rig to top off the paintball tank. —...
