    Miles accrued while towing

I think I have seen a thread that stated the speedometers are electric and won't post miles when towed. Is this correct across the board? All model years of TJ? So if an add states "high mileage because towed", they are basically lying.

    TJ Grill

Is the stock grill easily removable on a TJ? I can't tell by looking if you don't have to pull the radiator. I'd like to try a wrap just on the grill.

    LED tail lights

These tail lights are advertised for 2007 up Wrangler. Do you think the problem with fitting them on a TJ is electrical, or fitment, or both? https://www.online-led-store.com/smoked-tail-light-cazledtbl2552-sm They're less than half the price of the Quadratec units.

    No brake lights

I do have the third brake light and tail/backup lights. No tail light stop light, no turn signals. Checked the bulbs and fuses, especially #2 behind the glove box. Looked at wiring diagrams in Chilton and checked any other fuse that might be connected. Everything looks right. Any ideas?

    Tesla Flaw

One thing I've learned from reading on this blog is that salt and car frames is a bad thing. I guess these aren't ideal every day drivers for winter driving. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-03-07/35-pounds-dirt-trapped-tesla-model-3-reveals-stunning-design-flaw

    P1281 Error Code

I got a P1281 error code this weekend. I found a thread telling me it's a engine temp warning probably associated with the thermostat. New thermostat on order. Where are all the codes listed? I have the Chilton, Haynes and Ludel shop manuals and none of them list all the codes. Also, how...

Have you salty dogs tried this?

You already have a winch, seems like the proper snatch point and an anchor up high and no problem. Genius, right? No point in asking me to try it, no ice here except in my whiskey.

    Can't sell it on eBay

Dude has had this up on Ebay twice now for almost the same results. Can't crack 20k. Be interesting to know what his reserve is. I'm sure it's an excellent rig, but he's asking for a sight unseen buyer. What do you really think it would sell for in your area? I haven't seen it on Craig's...

    TV Program Rubicon Trail

I caught an issue of Top Gear on my recorder that featured a trip on the Rubicon Trail. Seems these 3 guys wanted to map it for Google Earth. So they bought 3 off road ready vehicles. (sorry, no Jeeps). A 90 Toyota 4 Runner with an external roll cage. An 85 Bronco, with 37" tires and the star...

    Floor mats moving around?

The better grade of floor mats advertise 5/8 deep texture. I've read reviews that state the owners don't like them because your heel will catch as you move your foot from the brake to the clutch. Is this a real thing? And no, I don't drive in stiletto heels. No high heel sneakers either...

    Diagnosis?

What do you call the affliction whereby you can't leave a "project" alone? Once something is designated as a "project", modifications, fabrications, customization must happen? I used to think of myself as a tweaker, meaning I'm always tweaking something, but that handle has been stolen. I...
