    Arizona Anyone near Chandler, AZ

I'm flying in this weekend to look at a used Patriot Camper. https://www.patriotcampers.com.au/off-road-camper-trailers/x1/ If the sale goes through, my plan is to ask the owner to drop it off at a nearby Boat & RV Storage Lot and then I'll drive down in the spring to tow it back up to Canada...

    Fixing a broken clockspring

I replaced my original clockspring about a year ago with a brand new Mopar and this week I started getting an intermittent airbag light when turning the wheel. Sure enough, I checked it with a voltmeter and confirmed the clockspring failed. I'll replace it with a Dorman under warranty but...

2006 Rubicon four-wheel-drive selector switch question

Looks like i'm wrong, i just checked the FSM and on the Rubicon the indicator does go to the PCM but in the non-Rubicon it goes direct to the Cluster. What's interesting is the logic still works in the non-Rubicon (ie. you can't enable lockers without 4wd being turned on) but as far as i know...

2006 Rubicon four-wheel-drive selector switch question

Ya, my answer is based on the Rubicon wiring & logic. I currently have my cluster and axle lock switch on a bench since I am trying to replicate the factory setup in my non-Rubicon. The indicator switch goes to the cluster. The speed goes to the PCM and the PCM sends it to the cluster. The...

2006 Rubicon four-wheel-drive selector switch question

Ah the indicator switch. It’s just a simple switch to ground so doubt it’s picky about brand. I replaced my non-Rubicon with a Crown and it’s been trouble free. It goes directly to the Instrument Cluster to turn the 4wd light on and assist in the logic if lockers can be enabled on not.

2006 Rubicon four-wheel-drive selector switch question

Are you talking about the locker switch or something else? The switch isn’t just a switch, i took one apart the other day and was suprised by how much circuitry it has.

    Radiator install issue

Do you have a body lift? If so you probably have new holes about 1" lower than the original ones in the shroud.

Is a tummy tuck something I can do myself?

It is pretty easy to do yourself except re-routing of the exhaust if needed.

    Name that e-locker

Your elocker doesn’t have the indicator switch sense that the oem has so the cluster light flashes indicating an error. If you want to keep using the factory switch but want to keep the lights solid, you can run a jumper wire from the front & rear locker indicator switch sense at the back of...

Help with electrical 12 volt fridge

I would guess ARB is providing the current draw at 120V despite saying they ran the test at 12V. Try and find a comparison in watts instead. 0.85 amps at 12v is only like 10 watts - no way it is that efficient...

TJ Steering Shafts and Bearings: What I Know

Here are some measurements and what I have learned. As someone mentioned earlier both the bearing race and cage are split. I don't think this is meant to allow the bearing to wear in, since it is already completely tight fitting on a brand new shaft. Bearing cage is made of plastic and is...

Has Quadratec gone out of business?

After cancelling my last order, I stupidly placed another one again on March 1st but this time with international shipping to Canada. As of this morning, I hadn't received an update so got a hold of someone through the online chat. Two of my parts were back ordered (despite the website saying...

2000 TJ front axle nut removal problem

If the opposite wheel is off the ground you need to lower it or wedge it so it doesn’t spin. Or put the brake caliper back on as someone mentioned.
