    Should I buy my buddy's 2015 JKUR?

I’m flirting with the idea of buying a friend’s 2015 JKUR recon edition. Don’t worry. I’m not selling my TJ. It’s a manual with 79k miles. He’s owned it for the last 3 years and only put 9k miles since owning (their third vehicle). Never been off road. Still 100% stock. Newish tires. Steel...

Is something missing from my rear lower spring perch?

My rear lower spring perches have the nut and bolt exposed. It has a retainer plate that holds the lower spring in place. The bolt tears up my bump stop when it contacts. Something I’ve noticed, every other TJ rear lower spring perch I’ve seen has the raised pad to contact the upper bump stop...

SOLD Dana 44 carrier tracloc w 4.88 ring and pinion

I have a Dana 44 carrier with new 4.88 ring and pinion and a rebuilt trac loc I believe. Came with the Dana 44 axle I bought a few years back. Clearing out my storage. Figured I’d put it up here before throwing it in FB market or trashing it. Local pick up only. Not shipping. It’s heavy as hell...

Why Off Road Clubs are Important for New Jeep or 4WD Owners

I went to a park with a couple “jeepers” and they were spotting each on a trail that didn’t require it. They just didn’t want to scratch or scrap. Absolute torture.

Why Off Road Clubs are Important for New Jeep or 4WD Owners

Pretty much this. Nice guys. Good to chat. But too much BSing around and not enough wheeling. Especially when I have to drive an hour or two to get to the site. Worst is when a nice group of 3 or 4 turns into a group of 8-10. No thanks.

What did you do to your TJ today?

With temps hitting 60 here in the NE, gave her a much needed bath. Was forced into bringing the Jeep out of winter hibernation for a few days while the wife’s car was down last week. Can’t wait for temps to get back to top down/half door weather.

    Clutch Replacement Help

-I ordered two Luk kits as the first set one had a damaged plastic TOB. The second kit came with the metal TOB. -I probably didn’t have to remove the flywheel but I did planning to replace it. Ended up sanding it down and reused it. I also just reused the bolts. -I decided to replace the...

Please Learn From My Lack of Proper Insurance Coverage (Please Read)

I did the online quote just now as well. I just clicked no modifications since none applied. I said pleasure vehicle at 3k miles a year stored in my garage and got a quote at $441. I placed the valuation of my Jeep at $17k. I currently pay $321/year through my regular insurance to be insured at...

Please Learn From My Lack of Proper Insurance Coverage (Please Read)

So if I call them up, I could tell them I think my Jeep is worth $20k (mods being included in that assessment) and they will insure it at that valuation without any receipts?

How do you insure your TJ?

I may have to look into switching to Haggerty as well for the TJ

    Best Replacement Fuel Pump?

I’ve read that people bolt the two parts back together too. So that’s an option.

Finally changed to "high mileage" oil

When I initially switched to Napa high mileage, my very small RMS leak became temporarily worse. After a week or so, it resolved itself and now the leak is completely gone. I don’t even have the oil that hangs out on the bell housing anymore. I was coming from Mobil one blend oil.

    Best Replacement Fuel Pump?

That’s a good idea. I didn’t need the aluminum skid but I liked it enough. I still have my stock skid so I may mod it for the 1” clearance then sell the savvy one down the line. It’s a good free mod. Wish I knew how to weld😩

    Best Replacement Fuel Pump?

I switched to a savvy skid recently and thought about that as well. I decided to leave it alone since it ain’t broke. Two factors- it wasn’t too difficult to drop the tank (a bit of a PITA though) and a Bosch fuel pump is $200. I have 101k miles.

Clutch pedal softer after new clutch

Same experience here as well. Replaced my clutch with a Luk last month. Works great but also felt very soft initially. I even bled my master cylinder and slave as I accidentally shot the piston out of the slave before the job and I thought it had air bubbles. But after month it’s gotten more...

    Wife's car cranks then stops

Trying to figure out why my wife’s 2007 Honda Accord wont start. Here’s the deal: -previously long cranks to start in cold weather -didn’t start last week in single digit weather. Jump started it and it turned over. -this week, didn’t start again in single digit weather. Attempted to jump...

    My Bestop Is Torn!

Does the Bestop have to be purchased thru Bestop to have them honor warranty? I see they require photos and a receipt. What if it’s purchased thru Amazon?

    My Bestop Is Torn!

Yea fair enough. There’s an overwhelming amount of people/reviews that say to do it on a hot day so I’ll heed to that advice and not put myself thru the punishment.

    My Bestop Is Torn!

Wow I just received my twill Trektop on Friday and it’s below freezing here in PA. Can’t say it didn’t cross my mind to try and install it….
