I would doubt you need a repeater for the distance you're talking. Set up a good antenna on your house and run it to a decent base station, not another handheld (just keep a number of handhelds around so anyone can grab one and go). If your house is in the middle of the property on a large hill...

As said before - if the bolt is loose it needs to be tightened (or replaced). However I’d guess it’s the actual joint, which looks to be a heim joint. Which heim joint depends on what trackbar you have (I don’t recognize that one from this view).

How well does ramen take stain? I can imagine some wild grain patterns.
