TSB # 21-003-04: Leaking NV241 transfer case on TJ Rubicon models

So I wanted to get things fixed before I made my comment on this. First I purchased a new seal and added another cutout section to the retainer like Bud did. I put the first one in the wrong spot. So now I actually have cut a slot for the fluid to go back into the t case. Not leaks yet on the...

TSB # 21-003-04: Leaking NV241 transfer case on TJ Rubicon models

When my proper seals come in I will give it another go. I messed up installing a mopar seal. Then just trying to get my Jeep off our lift I put a seal I thought might work. I think it was a front output shaft seal. I used rtv on the splines of the shaft and on the outside of the seal housing...

Literally my worst nightmare of a response. I just paid 1400 for this case 😭😭😭

TSB # 21-003-04: Leaking NV241 transfer case on TJ Rubicon models

So I’m back. I did the same thing as the OP and it did not work with the seal I used previously. I used the same seal that was previously in the case. I have a few proper replacements in the way. I’m curious though if my actual transfer case retainer may need to be replaced. Anyone have luck...

TSB # 21-003-04: Leaking NV241 transfer case on TJ Rubicon models

I think i figured the last part out, 05013019AA is the seal included in the retainer not made anymore I'm guessing. It doesnt look like you had to get 05093612AA based off your post. if that is just the seal for the speed sensor, I am going to just rtv it. I have issues there as well. My...

TSB # 21-003-04: Leaking NV241 transfer case on TJ Rubicon models

I am trying to acquire parts for this job as my 241 is leaking out the rear output shaft. I am having a hard time finding part number 05093612AA (1) Seal, vehicle speed sensor as well as the part number 05093606AA (1) Retainer, t/case rear (includes rear output shaft seal) I see you...

    Alignment after front coil spacers

Try adjusting your drag link first. Check this vid out on how to do it. Same concept for the TJ.

241OR transfer case will not shift into 4LO

Busted it open and found the issue. Mode ring was installed wrong by PO. The idiot also cut the shift rod presumably trying to get it to shift into 4lo. Anyone know the correct length of the 241or shift rod? Want to make sure this one is usable.

241OR transfer case will not shift into 4LO

I will put a tire from each end up and try again while moving the rear driveshaft while my wife tries to put it in 4l. So are you saying the plate that attaches to the tcase on one end and the cable shifter on the other needed clearancing? If so I will definitely look into that because the guy...

Looking for another TJ: Any years to avoid automatic transmission and OPDA issues?

I would rather put $600 towards mods than fixing notoriously bad pcms. I have not heard of nearly the same issues with the auto tjs with the earlier ecm configurations. My 42rle had to be rebuilt at 120k miles (reason PO sold the LJ) PCM replaced at about 128k miles and solenoid pack replaced at...

Looking for another TJ: Any years to avoid automatic transmission and OPDA issues?

How much does it cost? I spent 800 on mine and still have Skim computer codes that are deemed fine by the company I got my PCM from.

Looking for another TJ: Any years to avoid automatic transmission and OPDA issues?

Stay away from the autos in 05 and 06. If you want an auto get an 04 LJ. PCM issues with 05 and 06 are almost a sure thing. I have an 05 Auto and if my trans has any more issues I am either LS swapping or getting a manual swapped in.

241OR transfer case will not shift into 4LO

Before I unbolted the 12 transfer case skid bolts and 4 trans mount bolts I wanted to just check with some experienced 241 owners to see if this case is stiffer than the 231 or if it should shift into 4lo with the same ease as the other shift locations. I have plenty of experience messing up my...

241OR transfer case will not shift into 4LO

I have searched this issue and not found anything similar which seems odd. I picked up a Rubicon Tcase to swap in my 2006 tj x and it will not shift into 4lo. on the table before we put it in and after making sure it had fluid it was hard to shift into 4hi and neutral and would not go into 4lo...

    NP231 transfer case differences

I'm going to label this a hopeful helpful. My wife is upgrading to a rubicon tcase and I am taking her SYE for my LJ. She has the Nsg370 and I have the 42RLE. I am pretty sure the NV3550 and NSG370 have the same input shaft so therefore the 42RLE should be the same as well... We will see. This...

    2005 LJ Auto Issues

Jeep is throwing p0700, p01604, and p1613 after resetting codes. Checked the fluid level and it is good When accelerating the Jeep will either immediately refuse to shift past 2nd gear or eventually stops shifting past 2nd gear. I have to shift to Neutral, turn the Jeep off and on while moving...
