I miss this forum. Thank you to all the long time forum members.

Oh I'm not leaving. I still have my LJ and I still like to talk about TJs/LJs. I just don't frequent the forum as often since my LJ project is mostly finished and gets driven less. ...oh no, did I just say my LJ was finished. I'm sure that will come back to bite me. I still have plans for...

I miss this forum. Thank you to all the long time forum members.

I just wanted to say I miss this forum. I still have my LJ, but I purchased a JK last year and that is now my primary ride. So the LJ doesn't get much attention lately, and I don't spend much time here. But I will say that the JK side of the forum is a bit of a different mindset. There is a...

    Has anyone replaced seat foam?

Nice that you were able to sit in them. That is one of my biggest hold ups. Let us know your base solution when you get them in.

    Has anyone replaced seat foam?

How do you like the PRP seats. I've been needing new foam for years. But like others have noted, the seats themselves are in great shape. So last year I installed some new foam over my old foam. It helped, but I keep eyeing the PRP seats.

    Utah TJ Fest 2022

Chris thanks for sending out the PM reminder. I had completely forgotten about TJFest. I'll have to see if I can make this work somehow. I'd still love to join in on this.

    Coil spring questions

This is a pretty hotly argued topic in the forum. Personally I really Iike my dual rate JKS coils. I did notice a very slight improvement in ride quality. However, most people will never notice the difference. Infact, if you argued it was a placebo effect or due to a 1" taller spring, I...

Why is my TJ ruining radiators?

Thanks Jerry. I was hoping you would chime in on that. It has been so long since I replaced my radiator I couldn't remember for sure if my new hose had the spring or not. I just remembered my OEM did and there was some discussion about it at the time. However, while that may be true for...

Why is my TJ ruining radiators?

As mentioned already, I would be sure to replace all the hoses and the cap to make sure its not something else. Might be a good time to have it flushed as well. Just to make sure its not something stopping the flow and causing over pressurization. Oh, also check to see if the new hose (I...

    Stereo system upgrade

Your speaker needs something around the back or it needs to be mounted in a solid wall like a dash or rear deck for an infinite baffle setup. The reason is, if your speaker is not enclosed or in a baffle, the sound waves coming off the back of the speaker will wrap around the front and they...

Active 'exhaust sound' on Wrangler 4xe

I was just over on the wranglerjlforum reading a thread where someone was all excited about some $2000 noise generator he installed on his 4xe to make it sound like a 392. He posted videos and it appears the system consist of some sort of exterior exhaust speaker system to make the noise. It...

What is the absolute best 4 inch lift for a TJ?

I was thinking about this last night. Maybe Currie should eliminate the grease zerks and use a teflon coated race. That's basically how my DDB bushings handle the wear issue. Then I decided it might be just as effective to just use Kevlar in the bushing compound. Not that Currie has ever had...

What is the absolute best 4 inch lift for a TJ?

Honestly, MC probably could get more sales if they had a zerk on their arms. It seems like it would be really easy for them to cut an indent down the middle of the bushing to actually make the zerk fully functional even. But I think the problem would be they require special grease. I think...

Savvy's Fox TJF4 and TJR4 for Jeep LJ?

That is what I thought as well. But I can't imagine that Fox builds 2 different shocks, that use identical looking tubes, but gives them the same part number. That would be insane. I can only begin to imagine the issues that would cause. How do you keep the Savvy tune separate from the Fox...

What is the absolute best 4 inch lift for a TJ?

Thank you MrBlaine. Thats a very informative summary of why things are the way they are. So clearly its not the result of 'shit' engineering at all. But unfortunately, the result of staying competitive in an ignorant market. As sad as that is.

What is the absolute best 4 inch lift for a TJ?

At one time JKS made control arms with Clevite on both ends and a shaft that twisted in the middle. It was an admirable attempt to solve the problem of being maintenance free and yet providing full flex. But I don't see them on their website any more. So either due to lack of sales or issues...

Savvy's Fox TJF4 and TJR4 for Jeep LJ?

Did he? I think there is a lot of confussion due to part numbers. The box does not indicate it is the Savvy valved shock. Its the standard Fox part #. So how do you know they are valved any different. Its strange that the Savvy part number is not included anywhere.

    OME 2.5" lift bump stops?

Yeah, I see 16.5" now. I looked wrong before. So I agree, when you take into account the rubber bushing that is perfect for 15.5" shock. That jives with what I was seeing. Now can I ask you to measure that bumpstop. Is that only 2" bumpstop? I have 2" of hockey pucks on mine (plus 3/8...

    OME 2.5" lift bump stops?

Can you measure the shock itself. What does it actually measure when it is mounted and fully compressed.

    OME 2.5" lift bump stops?

That is a good picture of the space you have between mounts. I took measurments on my Jeep from that same location and I had 15 5/8" on my Rubicon with 2 hockey pucks. So you have a little more room than me. But my concern was how much do the rubber bushings in the shocks compress when you...

What is the absolute best 4 inch lift for a TJ?

That might be the case. I knew my Jeep would be used mostly on the road. I wouldn't be hard core rock crawling on a regular basis. So damaging my joints from constant flex was not my main concern. I was more concerned about keeping things tight, keeping NVH to a minimum, and I wanted to...
