Recently purchased my first Jeep. 02 Sport and wasn’t satisfied with the single cigarette lighter for a power source. I’ve always wanted the ability to charge devices without a key in the ignition. Additionally, a PO had a small hole in the console that was a bit of an eyesore. I decided to to add a USB port and use that hole to put an inline switch so it could be turned off if it’s left for long periods to avoid potentially draining the battery. I tapped into the fuse behind the glovebox that’s dedicated for the subwoofer and always hot. The rest was pretty simple once I figured out how to loosen the console. So far very happy with this simple mod.
