How hard is it to replace a starter ? I see they cost around $139.00 mine is pulling battery down -pulling 300 amps is what I am told instead of 90 amps . Thanks

Not hard at all. The electrical connections are the most time consuming part of the whole deal, and even they aren't bad at all. Don't even have to jack the rig up to change it out.

Thanks sound easy enough, where is the best place to buy .

Amazon has a good selection of starters such as Bosch and AC Delco at competitive prices. You need to avoid the box store starters like Duralast and Omix-Ada they traditionally will not last.

Okay finally got the starter off today only took 2 evenings ( 1hour total ) one of the bolts was super hard to remove but I got it . Now let's hope I get it on easy .

I just replaced mine 2 nights ago. Apart from one bolt (the top one) being an absolute bitch to put back in, the job went smoothly. Now I am pretty confident my truck is going to start when I turn the key.

If you have an Autozone near you they have lifetime warranties on their starters.
