Hi! I have been reading this forum religiously since the past month to learn about maintaining and loving a TJ. I’ve been in the market for a TJ for some time and came across an ‘06 Sport with decent mileage, automatic, 4L I6, mostly been in WV and about 6 years in Ohio. What do you all think of this Jeep’s frame and steering/suspension condition? It’s clearly not in the best shape but curious to know if I can still use it as a primary daily driver? I live in the Midwest so winters will involve salted roads. I don’t have a garage so this baby will be parked on the street. Any thoughts appreciated!

Couple things I noticed are a leaking rear main seal, cheap garbage pro comp shocks, and huge wheel spacers. I wouldn't consider a TJ as a daily driver unless you have short commutes and are mechanically inclined. These vehicles can be money pits if you cant repair yourself

I am going to see the vehicle in person today so will make sure to take a screwdriver with me.

Stick your fingers in all the holes along the frame. It you feel large chucks/flakes of rusty metal, you should head home (or add $3,000 - $5,000 to your budget for frame repair or replacement).
