Cool it's fixed! The 56027868AD number was from one of the local Jeep dealers. They said it was the updated number (from the one listed in the online parts listing in the tech section on this site), and that it was on backorder at the time I called them. Found one at another local dealer here in KC.
It would have been interesting to have tried an NTK in mine when I was having issues. The first one I tried came from O'reillys. But at the point it ran so bad with the new cheap sensor, I only wanted to try Mopar at some point.
I did check my coil for fun, and it appears to be aftermarket.
