I visited my cousin's 28 acre get away in Colorado for the first time yesterday. He inherited it from his grandfather and spent most of his life helping his grand dad there. Sitting by a shed was the 1940's Jeep from his childhood. He learned to drive in this Jeep and used it daily in his chores. He has constant offers to buy it, but it will "never be for sale". Gregg has since upgraded to a TJ for chores and exploring and fun. I couldn't help posting photos. Any info on year, model, history would be appreciated. Gregg lost the title and doesn't remember much about it.

I'm guessing that that's Meyers hard top and doors. I had a '69 CJ back in the early '70s and it looks like the one I had (... along with a Meyers snow plow).

Looks like a CJ-3A, 1948-1953. The one-piece windshield is the main difference from the CJ-2A (which is what I learned to drive in). The windshield wipers were originally mounted below the windshield (note the hole plugs) but were evidently moved when the hard top was installed. The "chaff screen" on the grille appears to be an original accessory.

My uncles have a number of old Willys jeeps at the family homestead that are rotting into the ground, they'll never sell them either, and it's a bit of a shame.
Last I remember there was a 47 cj2a, a cj5, a Willys wagoneer and 2-3 pickups.
There was also a Cj frame and body that I played in as a kid that was buried at least ten years ago.
