Family outing at a serene ranch we frequent annually for the 4th, met the old guy who owns two Willys Jeeps: one from the war 1945 (the gray one, and the other a 1946, told me many a story about hunting in those Jeeps. I hardly prompted him and he was off on the stories about what these Jeeps could do! Both obviously still driveable

Awesome! A good friend has a mid 40's and I love driving it around. Window down, 3 spd grinding every shift, top speed about 45, maybe. Will post some pics when I get to my pc.

That would be so awesome to have one of those and drive it around town. Like a dream come true!
They are a total blast. Once you drive one, you fall in love with it. Super simple to work on, and the history is great. If my 44 Ford GPW could go 70 and 80 mph, I'd drive it all the time ! And maybe a little more padding in the driver seat :)

I need to get a roll bar for my 48 willys. Right now its open top. It came with the Military Artic top and sides but I need a roll bar.
