I purchased a (then thought to be) pristine '97 Sahara from a used dealer in North Jersey at the end of November. Unfortunately, the frame is totally shot at this point, and I'm out several grand. I don't have the capital, nor will I, to begin a total restoration and frame swap on the undercarriage so I'm likely going to have to let go of it.

I've spoken to several shops on Long Island recommended by you all, and a friend who rides with Wrangler clubs on the island, and without the liquidity, it seems theres nothing I can do.

Before I simply trade it in at a dealer and pick something else up, however, I figured I'd post it here. Aside from the frame issue, and likely other rust issues underneath, the body is beautiful, and it runs and drives like a champ. I also have the CarFax in .pdf format.

How far are you from West Babylon?
If the frame were not a concern would you consider keeping it?

Man, you are living my exact life 5 years ago. I bought this pristine 97 Sahara and ended up rebuilding it after I paid $1000 to have the frame repaired. I'm still not even sure about the frame tbh. The rust...... so much rust!!!

If I hadn't had the funds to dig into this I feel I would have sold mine too.

You may want to post detailed photos of the frame so that others know what they would be getting into.
Thanks Chris; I can't get under the vehicle too well as I live in New York City and don't have access to a garage at the moment.

I'm in Manhattan, so you're not too far.

YES; I'm doing my best to find a way to keep it. I've spoken with several specialists on LI and am moving toward getting a quote from one ASAP.

why do you ask??

Sorry about the frame but love the pics. I hope HeyABusa06 can help you, what a great offer for a fellow jeeper.

Good luck!

I'm getting a blunt, professional opinion on Monday morning (if the Wrangler makes it to the shop) at which point I'll decide whether I keep the vehicle or not. Thanks to those who have engaged in the post.
