1998 Wrangler Blinker Issue

Hi guys,

I am having an issue with my driver side front facing signal light. It doesn’t blink when I turn on my left signal but remains lit. However my side signal and rear signal light on the driver side both flash but extremely rapidly, and shows rapid on the dash too. My right side signals all work as they should. I recently went through and replaced all my bulbs and the same thing is continuing. Additionally, all light flash normally when I used my hazards. Any ideas? Thanks!

Flasher relay...Or multi function switch depending on year. Need to add that to your profile. LED's or stock bulbs?

IF the Emergency flashers are working properly that means the light receptacle and bulb are good; I would check the turn signal relay as posted above or the turn signal stalk in the multi function switch.

Hi all,

Update, changed my flasher relay, now my rear driver blinker and front driver blinker aren't working but the side signal blinker and dash flash a normal speed now. Any ideas?

Sounds like possibly a missing ground connection. Are their enclosures installed and screwed firmly to the tub? That's how they receive their electrical ground connections.

All '98's do that
I think it's in the switch on the column. I bet your hazards work fine all the way around.
My kid's did it and mine did it. We both went to LED's and LED relays and don't have the problem, so like Jerry said, prb a ground, likely from the console imo.

I had a similar issue. I though I was being slick, and replaced the three mounting screws on my back passenger tail light with stainless hardware, and washers because the holes had crumbled out a little from the rusty old self tappers. Fought the issue for a couple weeks, then pulled the stainless hardware and got slightly larger self tappers and installed and the problem went away. The stainless just wasn't making good contact with the body. I'm really surprised they didn't have some better form of grounding on the lights on these things.
